This review is updated since they opened their drive thru and I had time to order more food. The previous review was when they first opened.
The food got a lot more expensive. Almost $4 for a sope and a plate of three tacos, rice and beans for $12. Honestly the prices aren’t my issue. While the carne asada was delicious and I would highly recommend it, I wouldn’t tell people to try anything that is fried!! I ordered a chicharron sope and the meat was disgusting! It was as if they took the “cueritos” (pork rind) and deep fried it or tossed it in salsa. Whatever oil they used was rancid! It smelled terrible and I couldn’t even bite down on it. I tasted the salsa the meat was covered in and it tasted as bad as it smelled. Idk if they haven’t changed their oil in weeks or what but do not get anything that is fried or cooked in oil! The tripas taco was the same deal. It was covered in rancid old oil and threw it out. I don’t think I’ll go back anytime soon or at all. Even though this is the restaurant side of the market, it leaves me not wanting to go and buy their meat or produce. It’s a shame but reading previous reviews, it seems their themselves don’t...
Read moreManager is not customer friendly. I ordered Menudo with a pig foot. We all have bad days. Cook was off. The menudo was not good. Filled the to go container with a cows foot. The manager did not compensate. If you read your receipts says no refunds. Not written correctly. I get there she is Spanish speaking asked me where is the food? . I tossed in the trash. I went in to bring to her attention how the receipt didn't make sense. I'm a regular consumer. Every Sunday and go often to buy thier sweet bread. Lately, has not been fresh. They were excellent. Lately, with this economic issue does not give merchant's permission to feed us crap eithier. At minimum an apology and a remake. I offered to go home and take a picture of the thrown $18. Or so of this consumers hard earned money. I told her I would post. I was kind, professional, and assertive. She shrugged her shoulders. This place serves good food most of the time. Don't let me discourage you. Just beware of policies. Everyone...
Read moreToday was the very last time I buy food here. 95% of the time I place an order they make my food wrong. I called in early to order me a torta before going to work and when I get to work and check on my food it was missing tomatoes in it. How hard is it to get someone’s order right???? This is not a science, engineering, chemistry or mechanic type of job. This is a restaurant. You’d think it’d be easy to just make a damn sandwich right but apparently it’s not, at least not for them. I’d be okay if the mistake only happened here and there but it happens ALL THE TIME. I hope the owner address these problems because apparently it happens to a lot of people as well judging from the reviews I’ve read. If not it’ll continue to drive customers away. Went to Green Valley Cafe and it was faster, better tasting and great...
