Battistas Market Deli Cedar Lake — Restaurant in Hanover Township

We were driving by on our way to another restaurant and decided to eat here instead. We are so glad we did. What an incredible place! We got the Americano, a deli sub with salami and turkey, and a woodfire pizza. The bread on both sandwiches were outstanding. Soft, chewy, the perfect bite. The bread is why we will be back 100%. The sauce on the pizza was so good and it has fresh pieces of mozzarella. We dined in and sevice was great. The dining area is very clean and the wonderful aroma of their sauce hits you as soon as you walk in. A small varity of bottled sodas. I wish they had some italian sodas or teas. Amazing place for lunch. My son and I went with a wood fired cheese pizza and a meatball sandwich.

Both were 5 out of 5. Meatball sub was open on top and closed going down. Absolutely stuffed with homemade meatballs. It was very filling, and the bread was so fresh. Very soft while holding it's shape Very nicely.

The pizza was quick due to the wood fire. If you are in a time crunch for lunch, you could be in and out within 10 minutes of ordering. The pizza was amazing, comparable to a neapolitan style. Very good ingredients with amazing dough.

So glad to have an Italian store/deli close. I didn’t want to buy a whole Guanciale for the bucatini amatriciana I wanted to make for dinner tonight, nor did I want to drive to Schererville. Low and behold, we now have an Italian deli in Cedar lake! I didn’t even know it was there!
