Super nice staff but the food was not what I was expecting. I ordered the lechon dinner and it was nowhere near legit PR food. The rice was super orange (usually yellow). As I ate it I felt crunches because of undercooked rice. The pork itself was the best part but even that was not super flavorful and dry. The pastelillo was not a traditional one either. I got the beef and potato and it was super mushy and liquidy inside. Almost tasted like tomato and that does usually go in a traditional pastelillo. Surprised this place is super highly rated as it is not authentic in taste. SUPER disappointed I was served this as Puerto Rican food and I wasted a 40 minute drive and my money. Maybe they don’t specialize in this dish and that’s why it was so off. But it was enough for me to not want to go back and trust the other food. First of all, the food is amazing!! The Empinadas are to die for! Also, their customer service is like no other! I placed a decent size order last night and some of the order was accidentally left out, just an oversight from packing it all. They contacted me and went above and beyond to make it right! They not only are delivering it fresh today, but offered a refund on the food that was forgotten. I told them i truly don't even need a refund, but they insisted! Wow! What a way to make it right! We used their on-site taco service and man was it a big hit!! Ray and his assistant were awesome and the food was amazing! They even took time to come sing happy birthday! At this point, I’m trying to find reasons to have a big gathering just to have the taco service back! We’ll definitely be stopping by the store for those delicious empanadas, lechon and rice.
