They say nothings ever like the first time and this place seemed to follow that Ideal. Initially I was searching for that authentic South American cuisine, full of flavor and cultural detail. My first time going there I felt as if I have found that, but a few times later it seemed as if the quality was lacking. The original flare I once tasted was gone, food seemed rushed and missing that effort to create a top notch dish. The food was bland and some items a little over cooked. The one thing that did seem to keep it's original flavor were the empanadas but that was simply an appetizer. I think this place has the potential to be a unique delicacy, but I feel like businesses that start getting popularity forget their original mission...to make great food that you won't forget. If you happen to be in the area I'd still recommend checking them out since there aren't many Venezuelan restaurants around, however I hope they bring back that...
Read moreMy family and I came here for the first time. We got seated right away. The inside is much bigger than it looked from the outside. Very clean and spacious. The waiter was attentive, friendly, and welcoming.
He recommended us to try the appetizer platter. A mixture of empanadas, pastries, stuffed cheese stick, and fried plantains. All very freshly made and tasty!
My husband had the mixed peptito (mixed grilled meats loaded on bread and toppings). This thing was MASSIVE and very flavorful. This is big enough for two people with leftovers to take home.
I got the mixed grilled plate. It came with coleslaw, grilled chicken, pork and beef over fries. The meats had great flavor!
The table behind had got the Land and Sea grill. Came out on a skillet pan sizzling!!! The smells were phenomenal. THIS is what we will be trying on our next visit!!!
We cannot wait...
Read moreWent to dinner there, for starters, the waitress barely spoke English. However I didn’t have an issue since she was really trying to communicate and used her phone to translate. A+ to her for not letting the language barrier prevent me from ordering. I ordered a beef empanada and 2 pastelito (one beef one chicken). I received a chicken empanada and 2 beef pastelitos. Overall I guess that didn’t really matter since they basically were the same thing (the deep fried breading tasted the same). The issue I had is that the pastelito was very cold in the middle. It’s obvious the food isn’t fresh and they take it out of the freezer and deep fry it (which they couldn’t even do correctly). I’m hoping at the very least it’s made there and not bought...
