JC's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hanover Township

I recently dined at JC’s Mexican Restaurant for the first time, and it exceeded every expectation. We sat on the patio, which was comfortable and welcoming, and the hospitality was just as warm. We had the pleasure of meeting Luz, one of the owners, whose passion for quality is evident in everything she does. She explained that if the food isn’t good enough for her own family, it’s not good enough for her customers and that philosophy truly shines through in how fresh the food is. It’s so rare to find restaurant owners like this.

I ordered the steak fajitas, and they were nothing short of outstanding.The rice was a standout on its own as well fluffy, flavorful, and far from the typical afterthought you find at most restaurants. THE guacamole!!! Absolutely exceptional. Fresh, creamy, and made with the highest quality avocados made daily.

What impressed me most, though, was not just the food, but the care behind it. JC’s is clearly a place built on pride, love, and attention to detail. First in foremost the guac was really good and also the skirt steak, the rice taste plain and you literally get a pinch of rice.. steak was VERY THIN but Shrimp was good.. you do not get your moneys worth, I paid $28 for my entree and it was not a good portion for what I paid, gave me a pinch of every thing and I see other people photos so this is normal for them.. my boyfriend order this chicken stuff with green sauce on it… very nasty, I do not recommend.. my baby had a cheese burger and the cheese flavor made me want to throw up.. ew, use regular American cheese, pepper jack or Swiss or something, not that nasty stuff y’all use.. Service was good, they were nice but those meals were way too much for way to little of a portion.. like dude, y’all jumbo burrito is regular size, why call it jumbo if it’s regular? They are over priced here for everything and I won’t be back. We came out to see if we’d like but nope.. not happy. Been eyeing this restaurant for the longest. I finally ordered food to go and honestly I’m very disappointed! I did not get the authentic Mexican food taste, I’m sorry but it’s not there! I ordered the steak tacos and the steak was awful. The kind of meat they use is not the skirt steak I’m used to. The meat that was used is the one we used for the “ caldo de Res” meaning beef stew! I also didn’t get any salsa to put on the tacos so there goes another point off. The horchata drink probably the worst drink I’ve ever had, not authentic! It taste like a cinnamon/ peppermint drink. I wouldn’t order that drink. The green enchiladas chicken was bland and the chicken pieces were too big, it’s like they put the chicken in a food processor and pressed the pulse button a couple times. Beans lack some flavor, could have seared some onions to give it some flavor to cover up the can taste. Overall taste and presentation. This place is not for me and it’s safe to say I wont be ordering from here anymore. Not sure why everyone swears...
