I went ahead and checked this place out during my lunch break and wasn't impressed. The staff were friendly and yet at the same time not very attentive to the customers? Like it feels like you have to make them pay attention to you by coming across as impatient or annoyed for them to finally realize you're still waiting for your food/bubble tea and even then, it doesn't seem to register to them that you're there. They take way too long to make a small bubble tea. As for the fried chicken, expect to wait even longer, about a good 20+ minutes for even a small order. By the time I got my food and drink and side, I only had 15 minutes of my break left to go, that's literally almost 45 minutes of wasted time. I get they must fry to order (I guess?) and can be busy but that's just outrageously long. The fried chicken is hot and fresh but pretty mediocre, it doesn't taste any better than Chinese takeout fried chicken that you can get anywhere and is nowhere close to even beating Popeyes or Church's. For the wait to be sooo long the chicken has to be good, and this just wasn't anything memorable or worth the effort. The mashed potatoes tasted as close to homemade as you can get with a nice gravy, but even then, nothing to brag home about. The portion sizes are incredibly small too. What turned me off the most was how overpriced this place is for what you get and for how long you have to wait. The menu is confusing and the pricing isn't transparent, you end up paying more than what they advertise in the pricing because of all these hidden upcharges and surcharges when you add something that you thought was just part of the combo but isn't even tho the menu says it is, it feels borderline illegal how they rip off customers like this. I dunno, I just don't like going to restaurants where so much is going on and where there's such a rigmarole about it all that you end up leaving not only disappointed, but exhausted and aggravated. Would...
Read moreCame on the surprise opening day which was a week ahead of time. Hopefully they'll work out the kinks. I like original bubble milk tea and was disappointed by this Kung Fu location. The black tea had NO flavor as though the same tea was brewed over and over again or there was not enough tea leaf used to begin with. The creamer/milk tastes completely different from the Kung Fu locations I frequent in Willowbrook, Millburn, and Montclair. Tea was also not topped off like other locations do. Workers were also unfamiliar with the check out system. I want to like this location as it is so convenient, but TBD. I'll give it one more chance... Visit #2 The short older woman that made the bubble milk tea did a better job. She carefully brushed off foam and topped off with tea. However, the tea again had little flavor come through. Perhaps their tea to milk ratio is off? Reused tea leaves? Too little tea in the brew? Back to the other locations for now... Update August 2024 - This will be the last update. Place is trash now if you want real tea. They reuse tea leaves so many times, the milk tea tastes...
Read moreCame in for the LDW special, 2 for $8 bubble teas. It wasn’t really 2 for $8, it was $3.90 off so unless you’re getting two plain bubble teas, you’ll be paying a bit more. I had the taro slush with boba and hubby had a matcha red bean slush with pudding. KFT is usually hit or miss and this one was a miss. I figured you can’t go wrong with taro but for some reason, mine tasted like cool ranch Doritos. The matcha was okay though.
Not sure how their other flavors would be but probably wouldn’t be back to this location, especially since we were only in the area to run...
