Trails End Restaurant - Loudonville, OH — Restaurant in Hanover Township

We brought a group of about 35 people to use the banquet room after my Dad’s funeral for a luncheon. There was a misunderstanding between myself and the manager, Christie, about people ordering additional food from the menu due to dietary issues and such because they would only allow us to have pizza and salad on the banquet room food bar. Instead of being understanding and considerate over a misunderstanding, she implied that I told her something that I didn’t and refused to serve some of the guests in our group. We just lost our dad, and she did not seem to care. She was more concerned about the fact that people were ordering additional food from the menu at the bar. When did making more money by people ordering more food become an issue that needed to be stopped. We brought in a lot of business on a Monday afternoon in the winter they otherwise would not have had. After she got rude with some of the guests attending the luncheon and then with me when I tried to address the issue I stopped all additional banquet food ordering at that point. The fact that this manager, Christie, was rude to people who just came from a funeral and lost their father over a silly issue when people are actually spending more money in the restaurant made no sense to me. And in a situation like that she needed to be more considerate, understanding and sympathetic over a misunderstanding on her part as well. It wasn’t that big of a deal, and she made it into a huge issue on a very sad day in our life. We will never go back, and I would not recommend this restaurant if they are going to treat patrons like that. Shame of you Christie...

This place, just skip it. You know if you follow me i look for the good. No drink suggestions, no appetizer suggestions, impatience while waiting on my boy's to decide a drink. Meanwhile, we asked for drinks. The wait person didn't know what they had..Get a drink menu, ordered a drink and beer to be told after they were out of bloody Mary mix??? Didnt know there was such a thing.. So I order the twins food first, because they take longer to eat and come on, they are 4! I usually ask for their food first. So we get our appetizer platter which was ok. But still no food for the boys like i asked. Now they are upset. Finally all our meals come out together. After that, our waiter, she ghosted, not another drink, refill or anything. Never stopped to ask about our food. I mean she never even picked up our appetizer plates we stacked when she brought our food. Sooo.... This is the 3rd time in my life i have not tipped.. Now i just got my card over charged by almost 20. They better not have tried to steal a tip.  Apparently the wait staff , definitely not a server, was ending her shift. However as a former server you usually check your table, ask how food was, see if they need anything before you leave. Standard practices. Not to mention that drinks were supposed to be included with kids meals and we also got charged for them and my boneless wings were awful. However i didn't even get a chance to get anything else. If zero stars was possible, that would be my rating. This place is a total joke. The first time I went, it took at least 20 minutes for anyone to even approach our table. Drinks took forever, food took even longer, and the place was only about half full. The entire staff was running back and forth and back and forth like no one had ever been trained to efficiently serve a table. I tried the place again because we had just hiked for hours and no where else was open sunday. I at first wondered if I had over exaggerated how terrible everything was the first time. NOPE. No one greeted us for 20 minutes, then our server acted like we were the biggest inconvenience to his whole life by simply placing an order. My friend got a beer, i had lemonade, and we ordered a salad each. The drinks took 10 minutes, and we waited another 30+ for the food, which for two salads is insane. Again, the staff is running around like animals, no one looks like they have any idea what the hell they're doing, our drinks are empty, no one notices, we tried to find our server to pay for our beer and lemonade and just leave but no one was paying attention so we left.
