Texas Hot Wiener Lunch — Restaurant in Hanover

I grew up coming here always was a favorite place of mine to come to. Except the last two times that I have gone here the staff are not very pleasant, they act like they can barely speak to you when you come inside. And yesterday while sitting down at one of the booths a roach ran across the side wall. I'll give it to the waitress she really tried to cover that up as quickly as possible but that was no lightning bug! The food I order wasn't that great either. The chili tasted like they add a bunch of water to it; this was also confirmed by our waitress when we were waiting for the hamburger we ordered to come out because the cook had to add some water to the chili. The onions were water logged which made them taste like nothing. Only thing that was good were the fries. It's really sad because this place was a special place for me. And ever since I moved away whenever I come for a visit I always spot in. I guess now I won't have to drive outta my way anymore because that place is terrible. What a shame! I've sent so many people to this shop have raved for years about the food and to have that experience just as I'm about to leave to head home really...

Visited over the weekend for lunch, not many customers so we got our food fast. While eating I observed the two cooks handling food with no gloves. Answering the phone and handling the cash register without washing hands after. Very unsanitary and unpleasant to see while eating. The one woman was even leaving the cook area and returning without washing hands. If you’re not gonna wear gloves, atleast have the decency to wash your hands after touching non food related items. The food was absolutely terrible! Our hamburgers looked like overcooked boneless ribs and had a rubbery texture. I had my cheeseburger replaced with a hotdog which tasted raw, yet had burnt spots on the outside. Our french fries weren't too bad but we're slightly limp and tiny. I barely ate any of my meal. The only good part of our meals were the milkshakes. We were very very disappointed. We will not be returning to this restaurant. From now on it will be Famous Hot...
