Let me first start by saying I didn't read any reviews prior to attending this show but wished I did!
My family and I all the way from the virgin islands came to this place to see Monique last month, she was funny as hell which I didn't expect anything less than of her. So that was the only good thing about our night there along with the semi funny security guard lol
We arrived to the door about 20 min after show time due to lack of parking spaces outside .. it was packed! When we arrived upstairs we were told to stand in a line.. which we were in for about maybe 15 min or less. We were then ushered to our " VIP SEATS " lol yea it certainly was not . When we were showed where our seats were it was outside of the VIP area where a bench was situated.. no table and chairs like it was advertised to be. The bench was up against the caged in area of where the actual VIP was and once seated our backs were literally against the enclosure and away from the actual talent we came to see. We immediately got upset because even in regular seating they actually had a chair and table where they are sitting at.
We got the attention of the man with the cigar in his mouth all night ( assuming he was the owner or manager) And let him know of our displeasure for our VIP seating arrangement. He then proceeded to let us know that's why he tell folks to arrive early to get seating.
I'm sorry that you over booked your event and we the patrons got bamboozled out what we paid for! We were livid.. he then proceeded to pull the bench out so we can now sit in front of it.. stupid stupid stupid. My aunt let him know that we paid for VIP and wld like to sit where we paid for .. he brushed her off and told her he's gonna make some space in the actual VIP area so we can sit there . After that we were like okay let's relax a bit and just wait on him to seat us. In the process of waiting on him to come back and attend to us the server came over and gave us menus, I was actually hungry and ready to order and we told her we are waiting to get seated but give us a moment.. she said ok and went to tend to other guests.. now more ppl are filing in and our not so VIP area was getting filled up with extra chairs and everyone complaining about the same thing we are.. which is that this is not the VIP we paid for. We are getting antsy and the ladies are coming back asking us to order .. I started to get irritated now because where will I sit my food and drinks.. in my lap or on the floor? She cursed under her breath and walked off. We flagged down a different server to see if we can get in contact with the guy with the false promises and sweet lies lol no luck there either.
We just decided to just chuck it up as a lost and enjoy Monique and that was the only reason we can say was decent about our night.. in the midst of it all more folks who paid for VIP like the gentleman in the wheelchair and his lovely lady had to eat and drink with their laps.. he had to store his drink in his wheelchair cupholder.. so embarrassing to do that to a paying customer. Shame on your company and shame on you for never returning and trying to fix the issue that was clearly not our fault! I wld never return here even if it was free and anywhere that I see someone talking about it ima encourage them to not patronize your horrible establishment with a rude owner or manager and staff! From the other reviews I'm not expecting you to come on here with sense and professionalism. Do have a blessed day and I hope one day your establishment will turn over a new leaf!

I payed extra for a booth that was advertised to come with a bottle of wine. The doors opened up at 7:00 and we got there at 7:30. Asked the waiter about the bottle of wine for him to tell me that unless I paid $250 that the booth didnāt come with wine. The eventrite only had two booth options. $100 (seats six) and $400 vip booths that seat 8. Being that it was just my date and I, I brought the six seater, both were advertisied to come with wine! None the less, I ask to buy a bottle of wine separately. Waiter checks, they have ONE choice of cheap wine for $80 per bottle š¤. Still, we order lots of drinks (at least 6 top shelf) and I say provide a free shot and we can call the wine issue even. Waiter agreed. Needless to say that didnāt happen. Next we ordered food before everyone really got there because we were hungry at around 7:50. Shrimp appetizer, lamb chops for her, salmon for me. 1hr goes by I kid you not. Then waiter comes to tell me theyāre out of salmon š. I couldnāt be notified maybe 15 mins after ordering ?!?? Still no shrimp app by the way. So I say just bring the shrimp and lamb chops. Shrimp was dry and grossly over cooked, lamb was pretty decent but it took 1.5 hrs to get our food! No apologies or anything. Parking was $20 but they dnt valet, itās self parking š¤. When it came time to pay my $250 tab for a lousy experience, the waiter returns saying my card was declined. I had more than enough to cover my bill. Though some times my bank will initially decline a costly charge at a place Iāve never been but Iāll get a text instantly asking if I made the transaction, a reply of āyesā will allow the charge to go thru. This happens everytime. I say run it again. He returns and says the same thing. I check my online statement and thereās no record of ANY DECLINE. He didnāt run my card at all (fraud/scams š¤) so I go to an atm inside the establishment... wait for it. ITS OUT OF MONEY! I saw no one go to this atm all night so you donāt fill your atm on a packed house event ?!?!? Good call management. So I goto a second Atm which works but I had to pay an atm fee for the first empty atm and the atm that actually had money. š. THE ONLY PRO WAS THAT THE COMEDIANS WERE HILARIOUS. I donāt recommend attending this...

I truly, truly wanted to go, but I canāt spend my hard earned $$ on parking gouging or being taken advantage of regarding $$. Or being treated by service Staff the way you all did and spend so much $$ to get such a poor service. Inexcusable of business. (If I could give YOU ALL that posted honest reviews a 10 stars, I would ).. as it is? The ā1 starā? Itās for the Business Owner and Manager that is NOT even bothering to read on Google reviews about daily, weekly repeated complains and resolving the issue! š³š³ itās a disrespect to your returning and new Customers!
To @Uptown Comedy Corner: from 99% of your reviewers here? The Performers are amazing.. but Your service regarding food & drinks are bad. Im sure the Performers and your clients deserve better. The fact that even Management didnāt solve issues of expensive, 1 hr + cold food, to wrong orders, and late watered down drinks? Already put me off of going. Maybe if your Owner/Management took the TIME TO READ your Customers reviews? Youād be having a huge amount of new comers.. like me, and returning ones. As it is, unfortunately I wonāt go. Just by reading all reviews? Even though everyone LOVED the Comedy Shows? Itās inexcusable that a client gets late, cold & wrong food and drinks. As reviewers posted, it wasnāt cheap either. The fact that the Waitressing Staff is not better managed/ and/or fired and hired better ones? Also not ok. There are literally hundreds of people thatād be happy to work there and Iām sure provide a superior service that this famous Comedy Center deserves.
Owner/s? It ALL comes down to Bad Management. Respect your clientele by at least trying to read all reviews here, BUT then DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Your Customers, new or old? Deserves at least that much. Thank you for reading.
