Halo Bakeshop — Restaurant in Harlem Township

I was surprised and disappointed at the lack of friendliness and professionalism by an employee named Liz. I'm a bride seeking a bakery for my wedding cake and I called this local place inquiring about a tasting as I support local business. She was rude almost from the beginning when she asked me when my wedding was, to which I replied "May". Liz was quiet for long enough that I thought the call dropped. Then she spoke so quickly and talked down to me saying, "so, like, is there a date? Or are you just hoping it will be in May or what?" I was taken aback at her abrasive tone when she was the one who wasn't clear. Then when I told her I needed to select my wedding cake baker during December for budgeting, she scoffed and said there was only a week left. I asked what she meant as today is the16th. She nastily replied saying that they were closing for the week between Christmas and New Years. How was I supposed to know that? Liz continued to not listen, make assumptions, become defensive at my questions, and hung up on me while I was explaining I'm just fact finding and learning what my options are. I understand the holiday season can be a busy time but that does not permit a business to be mean. I was trying to bring business to this place with my wedding of nearly 200 people. This bakery was my wedding cake lifesaver! I ordered a cake months ago through another bakery, long story short, they did not get my payment by check through the mail… I called to confirm pick up time the Wednesday before my Friday wedding, and they advised me that they did not have my order. I had no cake for cutting and pictures. I called Halo Bakery , spoke to Liz. She was divine! She squeezed me in to her schedule, and our cake turned out better than I asked! ALSO— with 1 million things going on, I completely forgot to delegate someone to go get the cake at 2 o’clock on Friday.. I realize this at 5:40, right before we were about to be announced at our reception, and then cut the cake. One of our guests called as he sped to the Bakery and ask them if he could still pick it up. They stayed open a little after close so we can pick it up and no one knew anything went wrong. Liz did call my phone, but I was not by my phone at all the whole day. THANK YOU LIZ FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS! I’m going above and beyond for the best day of my life. I wish I could give us Bakery 1 more than just five stars. They were so kind, and did excellent work. Our cake was delicious! On top of being gorgeous! I’m in the process of planning my daughter’s baby shower so I began searching for local bakeries. I found Halo and was quickly impressed with what I read and saw online. After drooling over the many options they offer, my husband and I placed an order online for some cupcakes and cookies. I was excited to try these yummy-looking treats! Let me just say... wow, everything was absolutely delicious! The cupcakes were moist and very tasty. I could have eaten about 10🤤🧁I was also happy to see so many flavor options on the website.
