This place is quickly becoming one or my favorite spots in Harlingen. So far I have had the Yummy Pho, which is like their signature pho. It comes with several varieties of meat cuts inside a delicious bone broth, that I am sure is simmered for hours. Another dish I have had, which is a go-to favorite Vietnamese dish of mine, is another soup called Bun Bo Hue or spicy beef noodle soup. This is a delicious spicy bone broth. They make a good one here. Another item I have tried was this limited time special of sticky rice with different types of pork cuts drizzled in a delicious sauce. I wish that dish was a menu mainstay, so good. The staff is great, friendly, and they like to ask how you are enjoying the food which leads to breifly discussing the food and menu. Makes for a pleasant dinning experience. I have heard of long wait times when this place opened but that doesn't seem to be the case since I've started going. The only thing I will say is they don't have a central ac going at the moment. They have many fans though that keep the place an OK temp, but some get hotter than others and might find that a tad bit uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be enough to turn anyone away. This is really good food. They have take out available. I will be a...
Read moreThe day we went there was no A/C, fans EVERYWHERE… our server was AMAZING. Emphasis on AMAZING. However, we did have a concern due to the broth and noodles not being cooked properly so we made a comment to our waiter. He suggested the owner should handle this, so when the owner came by we did state that the broth wasn’t good and the noodles were not cooked properly. He offered to remake it but after our opinion about the noodles and broth were made we didn’t want to bother the staff any longer with remaking the dish. We merely said we just didn’t like it. He then proceeded with “ok fine, just leave it there and yall can go” in my professional opinion there is a way to go about that and that was not it. As an owner I would at least apologize but what’s done is done. Hope his business does well, and more people continue to try it but I would’ve appreciated a simple apology. (We did not pay for it due to the simple wave and yall can go comment, and we could’ve paid but the rudeness gesture was enough to make us feel disrespected and unappreciated...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible! Yummy Pho is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Vietnamese comfort food. I ordered their xôi mặn (savory sticky rice) and was blown away by the flavor and quality. The portion was generous and beautifully put together — layers of sticky rice topped with perfectly cooked Vietnamese sausage, cha lua (pork roll), shredded chicken, boiled egg, and crunchy roasted peanuts, all garnished with scallion oil and served with a flavorful fish sauce on the side.
The balance of textures and savory notes in every bite made this dish unforgettable. You can tell they put care into their ingredients and presentation. Plus, the staff was kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. The vibe of the restaurant is so calming and inviting that eating here was overall pleasing. Whether you’re craving something traditional or just looking to try something new, Yummy Pho is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming...
