Harlingen Public Library — Attraction in Harlingen

This library has such a sad selection of books. The series are not complete and usually don’t have the 1st book in a series. You would think they’d be able to afford a better selection considering they charge you 3 times the price of a book when you lose it. My son lost a book and they want him to pay $30 when the book retails at $9.99. The city should look into the over priced books the library is purchasing from their supplier. I even offered to replace it but they said they couldn’t do that. I only have a part time job and can’t afford to pay that and my kids really like going to the library for the manga and the computers in the teen room.

We love going to this library! Workers friendly and very helpful. Lots of activities for the whole family. Self checkout stations. Library has two floors. Restrooms are located on both floors. Love that our library is still open for book and movie rentals. I know other areas only have curbside and I am glad Harlingen has been able to take precautions and stay open. The staff is always super friendly and helpful when my daughter or I am having some trouble finding a book.
