The Bar — Restaurant in Harris Township

If you are a smoker and like live music in a small, local venue, then The Bar is a good place to be. I'm not a smoker, but will still brave it for a short period of time when someone I like is playing, such as Ken Volz who plays on Thursday evenings. Reasonably priced drinks, good service, fun, local atmosphere. There is a "patio area" out front and you can hear some music from there. They used to open the front door on nice evenings, which provides fresh air to The Bar and allows those on the patio to hear the music, which works especially well for non-smokers who might like to enjoy a beer and tunes on a nice evening. I love this place! It's just outside State College, so it's not crazy with students. It's got great deals on drinks and the place is just the right size for a hometown bar! If Chucks your bartender then you hit the jackpot! He's always been the best when we've been there! (pro-tip) It's usually busy when somethings going on (bands/ bike night)so make sure you get two drinks...
