Came for Happy Hour for my first visit. Food was great. Second visit was for Restaurant Week. It was 4 for $44. Really only 3 courses as amuse bouche is not a true course. For my appetizer, i got the Szechuan calamari. It was a little on the salty side, but taste-wise was great. The calamari had a light breading. I don’t eat beef, so I was limited to one option for the entree, cashew chicken & broccoli. This is on the normal menu for $28. I would NEVER pay that much for cashew chicken. The chicken was dry, and the broccoli looked and tasted old and was really soggy. It was way too salty. I only had a few bites and got the rest to-go to give to a homeless person. Didn’t want it to go to waste. For dessert, I got the crème brûlée which was delicious. Will probably only come back for happy hour. Service was subpar on the second visit. Took a while for someone to take my drink order. A table that was seated after me had their drink order taken first. Their waitress also spilled water all over their table. Another server dropped a plate near us. Maybe they have new, inexperienced servers or maybe it was just an off night for everyone.

This place, although it was downtown, was easy to find and was easy to find parking. We had a reservation which we're glad we did. It was quite busy. The tables were situated with lots of privacy for customers and the menu had some interesting choices. Their cocktail menu was also plentiful. I couldn't decide between 4 different drinks, and I ended up trying two of my choices. Happily that I got to taste 2 but 4 would have been too many for me. I had a Coconut Mango Mojito. So delicious I might say. Our server, Mercedes, was a delight. She kept up with how busy the restaurant was. We weren't rushed and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just for date night. We enjoyed the appetizers and dinner was amazing. We'll definitely be back.

Update: I changed it to 4 star only because I support small businesses during a pandemic. However, the owner should realize they need to communicate to their guests UPFRONT on their material shortages, labor shortages, and temporary pricing (and why). It is not the customers' responsibilities to ask for the very basics when they are tired and hungry. Original post: It’s so funny that they served my iced coffee in a paper cup and gave me water in a plastics cup without a straw. Food was served without utensils until I asked. The price for the crab cake was $5 more in their system than on the menu. I guess the staff never had any training lol

The general vibe of this restaurant is very urban chic, but the VEGETARIAN options here did not live up to the hype. I came here with my family and overall the value was not worth it. I will say the staff and management are very helpful and flexible in terms of modifying meals for any restrictions. All of the food is made to order so just be aware it takes longer for the food to arrive to your table. Easily the best part of our meal was the french fries, from this one experience these were the best fries I've ever had; there was a certain "buttery-ness" to them that I was not expecting. They were a little over salty though, would recommend less salt next time.

Our appetizer was the mushroom pot-stickers with a sesame soy sauce. The sauce was in the bottom of the shallow plate making it almost impossible for us to dip the pot-stickers into the sauce, wasting almost all of it. My suggestion would be to serve the sauce on the side in a small ramekin. I had the pad thai with tofu and to make sure it was vegetarian I opted out of the fish sauce that they put in, as a result the pad thai was quite tasteless and even with spicy sambal it wasn't much of an improvement. My expectation with pad thai is that it is a little sweet, sour, spicy and has an umami flavor to it, and yes I know the fish sauce is key for the umami flavor. Finally we had the wok sauteed vegetables, consisting of carrots, red cabbage and edamame with soy sauce. Upon finishing the vegetables there was a noticeable puddle of soy sauce in the bottom of the bowl, this soy sauce caused the vegetables to be extremely salty.

From a vegetarian perspective this restaurant was not the best, but for those who are omnivores from the other reviews it seems like there are much better...

Not sure what happened but this used to be a really good place for food and service. I haven’t ordered lunch from here for a while, so I thought I’d order lunch today to celebrate my glowing performance review. I’ve always been happy with the quality of the food here and I wanted something special today. I ordered the special, “blackened chicken sandwich” on the “Chow Now” app asking for a substitute of French fries. When I went to pick up my order the lady working at the counter was put off and yelled at me to go to the bar to get my order. Like I said, it has been a while and there wasn’t any sign that said “to go” orders are kept at the bar. I didn’t appreciate her attitude and thought she could have said it nicer or in a different way that showed some genuine customer service. When I got to the bar, the bartender was just as grouchy and negative letting me know that my substitute of fries wasn’t allowed but he did it this time. I just said “oh I didn’t know and thanks” since I didn’t want my head ripped off for trying to explain the app allowed it. I would have been more than happy to pay an up-charge for the substitution and if it wasn’t allowed the app should have prevented it. My goal at that point was to get out of there since everyone I encountered who worked there were pretty rude. When I opened my lunch, they messed up the order. My fries had cheese and the description on the app didn’t say it came with blue cheese. Needless to say, after today’s experience, it’s unlikely I’ll be back. Hope you have a better...

I love, love, love Café Fresco – I have been eating here for years. The atmosphere is like being inside a lava lamp! – The service is impeccable!

Café Fresco is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Harrisburg. There is convienient garage parking directly across the street which is extremely convienient.

They have a wonderful selection of custom creative drinks that they make with infusions they create on premises – the drinks are absolutely divine here!

Usually there is a daily sushi offering that is spectacular! – the menu is very diverse will fit just about any occasion – you can come here with a date for an elegant first class dinner that will certainly impress – or you can come here with friends after work and have flat bread pizzas at happy hour.

Everything here is elegantly and expertly prepared, with the finest ingredients – everything is treated with the utmost respect from the moment you walk in the door! – the food, the drinks, the staff – everything is treated with reverence.

I had a companion once with food issues – and the chef came out and sat with us to talk about what they could do accommodate her – it was spectacular.

I am a regular here and I come here often, I love this place and I think it is truly a unique dining experience – every single time I come here I am...
