Just went to see, Tiny Beautiful Things. Excellent performances by all. Sugar was phenomenal. I love the fact that her advice was not only vulnerable, but none of her life experiences were wasted; the good, the bad, the confusing, the questionable and the ugly. The stage was the perfect set up for the intimate look at how we all share the common thread of humanity. I laughed, I teared up and most importantly, I reflected. Enjoyed a wonderful beverage at the bar in the lounge prior to the performance. Friendly staff and artists. I felt they were family and I was on the outside looking into more than just theatre. It was a whole vibe.

Was such a perfect way to introduce my kid to the world of Benjamin Barker and Mrs. Lovett…the small venue made things much more engaging…at times you could, dare I say, cut the tension with a…razor…at least I amuse myself. Thanks for a great show!

This is a long but very rewarding production of the adaptation of the play version of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. I have seen it many times before as I used to bring my high school classes to see it when it was performed at the Open Stage Theater facility. I had not seen it for many years since my teaching retirement in 2011. I was attending it now for two major reasons. My wife, a noted Holocaust educator and daughter of Survivors was speaking after the morning show. The other reason was because two CASA students were playing Anne and Peter and I have known and admired their talents, as a frequent substitute teacher there. Little did I know that several other members of the cast were personally familiar to me, too. Overall, I thought it a sensitively performed and directed production making the vast space of the SCOTTISH RITE theater seem intimate and realistic. It was deeply moving and touching. And the presentation following was powerful and well-presented as expected. I heartily recommend you see the production. Thank you, Open Stage for continuing to keep the Holocaust in our memories and Anne Frank's optimistic spirit and all the others who died alive in our hearts and minds so that we can keep improving the way we treat others.....with...

I witnessed an awesome, thought-provoking one-woman performance called MARY SPEAKS! Angela Polite successfully embodied several roles depicting universal characters based on the African American Experience! From the moment I walked into the theater, I was warmly greeted making me feel welcome and valued. I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Talk Back' with the artist after the show lead by SANKOFA founder Sharia Behn. The audience is urged to share their reactions and discuss feelings...
