If I could give them 0 stars I would! My wife and I stayed here to visit family, from out of town. We were consistently having issues with the shower and sink water temperature. We called down to the front desk, and they were cordial, but gave us no resolution. There was no hot water, not even lukewarm. We asked to move rooms and they did. When arriving to the new room. We had the exact same issue. Which, we called down to the front desk. They sent up a maintenance man, who didn't speak any English. He left the room for 15 minutes with the water running and left our door open. When he returned there was still cold water. We then recia phone call from the front desk, letting us know they would move us again. Mind you this is at 9:30 at night and we are in our pajamas being moved room to room. We recieved a knock at the door and it was a maid. We asked her if they had checked the new rooms water before moving us for the 3rd time. She walked away and we waited in the hallway. After 5 minutes we headed her way and she was going into the service elevator. We called out to her, "is our room ready?" and she yelled back, "my manager is checking." So that was the 4th room at this point with no hot water. We saw The manager going between two more rooms. I finally called out to him, "at this point I would like a full refund and my wife and I would like to find a place that can meet customers basic needs(a hot shower). This establishment is in a busy city, it has valet parking, a steakhouse ,coffee shop and longue in the lobby area. Our concern is health wise. How are they washing dishes in the restaurant. Washing your sheets, towels, laundry goods. It's unsanitary and a big disappointment. What really got to us is the managers response and communication. When going to the front desk, to recieve refund, he was very aggravated and short with me. I never raised my voice during this whole situation, mind you. He told me, abruptly thst the refund has to go through the third party to approve it. I told him, I need a cash refund, due to needing the 400$ to go get another hotel, as the 3-7 day refund time would time would be very inconvenient. He repeated himself and walked away. Mind you, this was 10:30 on a Saturday night. My wife and i are in this lobby in our pajamas. We were completely humiliated and unsatisfied. The manager didnt even offer us an apology. He made it aouls like it was our fault. This establishment needs a new manager that has better communication skills. I will tell everyone thst ask me a place to avoid Crowne Plaza at all cost. In a world that thst runs off of reviews and raitings, youd think they would do things differently. Anyways, do not...
Read moreThe hotel was clean and the hotel staff was very friendly. The room was very spacious which included a bar sink which was very convenient for the week long stay. The room is in dire need of upgrades. The refrigerator was like warm and after checking other rooms they were all the same, old and outdated. I had to use the bar sink as a cooler for my food and drinks, which required several trips to the ice machine. The rooms do not include a refrigerator which requires all of the guests to use the same microwave which is located in the lobby. It was very inconvenient to keep left overs in p partially cool refrigerator and then travel down 7 floors to warm it up properly. Not to mention touching an item that everyone is touching as you attempt to enjoy your food; the thought of it is very disgusting. The television is not smart tv so streaming my subscriptions were not possible. There were not enough power outlets/usb/c outlets for my electronics to charge for work, Thankfully, I travel with a power surge tower and was able to manage. The bathroom was spacious however the water pressure was very low which made the shower a little bit uncomfortable. While attempting to use the iron and ironing board, the ironing board would slam to the floor. It would not stay locked in place. It was also very rusty and the cover did not fit the board. It was a hassle to just prepare for work each day. Valet parking staff were horrible. They were not the friendliest. It was the only cost efficient way of parking. I was not comfortable leaving my vehicle in their care and I avoided using the service whenever possible. The hallway to the rooms were extremely cold which discouraged me from using the pool. The bar staff and food was great. A broader menu would be awesome. Overall, my experience at this hotel was not the greatest. A coworker stayed at a much cheaper hotel with a much better experience. I hope this review allows management to make improvements...
Read moreMy family and I reserved 2 rooms for our stay. The Crowne Plaza was some distance away from the reason we had traveled to Harrisburg, our event was in Mechanicsburg, but we chose the Crowne based on star ratings and wanting to stay at a nicer facility. Our other options were 3 star hotel/motel options. Let me say, what a waste of money. The beds are newer and the linens and pillows weren't bad, the overall quality of the rooms was nice but they were small and cramped, bathroom especially. The refrigerator in our room didn't work, and our food went bad in it. When we first arrived in the room there was a used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door, and only 2 clean towels were in the bathroom, although when I made my reservation for the one room I reserved for 3 people. There was a pair of worn socks under one of the beds. A bus of 200 plus teenagers were staying at the hotel this weekend and they were rowdy and EVERYWHERE. Waiting for the elevator took 15 minutes and it was continually full of these kids, and they were roaming every floor and loud. We complained twice about it and the second time, at 10 pm at night the general manager asked if I wanted to check out. At 10 pm, while my kids were upstairs and we were hundreds of miles away from home, how rude. The second day housekeeping barely cleaned our room, mayne they refreshed the towels (again only 2 for 3 people), the pool room was dirty, there were used towels laying all over and no clean towels available. Parking wasn't free, valet cost $20 a day, and additionally its expected to tip the valet. I guess I expected more courtesy and amenities when visiting a more upscale hotel, but the holiday inn express beats the Crowne by a long run, and coming from someone who travels at least 6 months out of the year for work, that's...
