My absolute favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg. I have no clue why the other reviewer rated this place 1 star. Are you kidding? I almost hesitate to write a glowing review, since I want this place to remain crowdless and a secret! That would be selfish though...
pho is outstanding pork is unbelievably good; tender, crisp, salty and sweet dish chicken is good sandwiches are great only appetizer I've had would be the spring rolls; really good, as well as their dipping sauce
I recommend trying their pork and rice, but the pho is equally good (soupier, obviously, but will fill you up easily!)
I'd say overall, the menu is fairly small, but that is a good thing! You come here for a few items that are done incredibly well.
Again, the 1-star review, I find that hard to believe. I go here all the time and have never had an issue. Again, really surprised this place isn't more popular.
(Check their hours of operation before you go. If I recall, they are closed on some oddball days. I don't have their hours in front...
Read moreI cannot emphasize enough how good this place is. I've literally never had a bad experience here. The service is always quick and friendly, and the food is absolutely amazing! The pho is extremely flavorful, great bang for your buck, and also (like any great pho should do) just makes you feel happy deep down in your soul. Besides the pho, all their other dishes are just as good. The vermicelli noodle entrees are topped with well cooked, perfectly seasoned meat, and refreshing vegetables. The sides/appetizers are a perfect accompaniment to the main dishes. The bahn mi's are exquisite, made with melt in your mouth bread and the perfect toppings for the "Vietnamese po' boy". You really just can't go wrong here. One word of advice, don't be afraid to add the hot sauces set out at the tables. They may feel a little spicy (to our tame Western tongues), but the flavor is to die for and add just that much more to any dish. Thank you Vietopia for the outstanding food, service, and erxperience...
Read moreVietopia used to be one of my go-to spots for good Vietnamese inspired food, but things have changed since the new ownership took over. The menu remains mostly the same, and the Pho is still enjoyable when it’s served right. However, the service has noticeably declined.
On several visits, I’ve experienced slow service, and attention to detail seems lacking. Drinks often go unfilled, and there have been times where we weren’t even given utensils with our meal. The condiments on the table are always low, which makes me question if they’re being cleaned and maintained properly.
Another major issue is cleanliness. The floors are often slick, making it clear they haven’t been cleaned thoroughly, and there are visible stains and splatters on the walls that have been there for months. It’s disappointing to see such a drop in quality, and I hope the new owners can find the motivation to improve both the service and the upkeep of...
