A-1 Pizza — Restaurant in Hartford

We order a few times a month from them for delivery. When you call you have to press one for delivery or two for pick up today. I placed the order and press two for pick up. The woman on the phone took my order and said you want this delivered and I said no I want this for pick up.

I get to the restaurant and I’m told it’s out for delivery. I asked them how they knew where to deliver as I never gave an address and they said it comes up when we call from the phone by caller ID. I explained how were they delivering it as I haven’t paid for it yet and they said they could leave it at the office and I could pay for it now. So I ended up paying for the pizza.

On my way out the door the gentleman tells me that he charged me a four dollar delivery fee. I explained I didn’t feel a four dollar delivery fee was appropriate as I didn’t want it delivered as I was very clear I was picking this up. He told me to take a bottle of soda to offset the cost.

Really?!? I’m paying four dollars for a bottle of soda that I didn’t even want.

Unfortunately, I will never order from them again. I can understand the mistake of delivering, even though I pressed two for pick up and I clarified with the woman on the phone. However, intentionally still charging me. A delivery fee is...

The food here is absolutely amazing. The problem is their math. Today I ordered deal #3 a pizza, wings and soda for 20$ and a small calzone that according to their menu is 9.45 plus 1.75 per topping I had two toppings. And somehow the food came out to 42$ I understand tax and a delivery charge but that’s well over what it should have been and this is not the first time. I ordered a deal last time and the deal was for 27.95 (Large pizza, wings and a soda) and they charged my card 36$! When I called the guy said there is a 4$ delivery charge and “the bank was just holding the rest”. I never received the money back today I ordered again giving them the benefit of the doubt and now the same thing happened. This place is lucky if I even gave them a 1 star. This place is so nasty! Bacon was burned, fries were cold. I ordered a triple decker, and the WHOLE SANDWHICH WAS SPREAD WITH ALOT I MEAN ALOT OF MAYO! Bread was soggy. My co worker's order was in correct so he called back to speak to someone and the "owner or so called manager" told him its our fault for not knowing how to place a order. And we were stupid. The prices are pretty expensive. They give you a lot, but its a LOT OF BAD FOOD, the owner told my co worker to go down there and he will shove the food up his ass, and told us he will spit in our food if we ever order from there. I would not be surprised if the health Inspection would give them a visit. VERY unprofessional. DO not order from here. NOT WORTH 1...
