N Y Chicken & Biscuits — Restaurant in Hartford

Horrible Customer Service! I always have large orders & in the beginning they wouldn’t get the order right but I overlooked it, but than they started over charging once in a while & when confronted they had an attitude. Finally I got food delivered to my house & was charged $4 for delivery when the website states free delivery & $2.00 outside of Hartford ( delivering to New Britain) so I did not tip the driver because I figured the extra $2.00 I was charged must of been a tip. Than the driver showed up & asked for a tip! When I ordered again & asked for a delivery I was told it was $5??? Which one is it $2, $4 or $5??? I was told “that it must of been someone else who told me $4”.??? Shouldn’t it be ONE RULE & EVERYONE who works there follows it? I can’t stand it when Places just start making up the rules depending on their customers. EVERYONE should be treated equally & with respect & not LIED TO. I don’t mind paying EXTRA for good service but I refuse to pay EVEN a penny extra to people who are clearly Scamming...

Seriously, step out of your insular friend bubble and make your way here for well-seasoned, crispy, delicious fried chicken parts. They don't even need sauce... although a side of barbecue or hot sauce doesn't hurt either.

I work all around the Hartford area, so whenever I'm working close to this stretch of Farmington avenue, I try to stop in. Yes, it's in a bad neighborhood. But the people inside are always friendly, and the product is great for a reasonable price.

The ONLY thing I would avoid here is the mashed potatoes. They're edible but kinda lousy. Still, the fries, biscuits, macaroni salad, potato wedges, even the rice... all solid choices.

Prices are good - I spent $40 to feed three hungry movers, and still had enough leftovers for my wife and I to eat dinner the following two nights. I'd call that...

I was visiting Hartford for couple of days and wanted something closer to my hotel. Well, what a GEM this place is. I only tried it once, and it turned out to be great experience. Not sure they deserve 5 stars after only one visit, but don't want to assume anything bad, so giving them what they deserve.

I tried lamb over rice and was thoroughly impressed by meat quantity, as this is where usually most halal restaurants lack.

The way menu is listed, it felt that only lamb is halal. I asked the brother and he showed me the certificate that everything is halal. He laughed saying he needs to fix it, some print/design issue
