Hank's Restaurant & Drinkery — Restaurant in Hartford

Everything is usually awesome - the bartenders the food and of course the service except for Sunday night when the rudest bartender I've ever had to deal with was working and complaining and complaining that she was by herself, She treated us like we were a nuisance for no apparent reason; any kind of alcohol we asked her for she said she was out of, she claims she didn't know how to make any type of drinks because she hasn't drank for 19 years! Lol! When I asked her why she was so unhappy with her job she said that I have been there in the past and I have been rude! Really?! I've never seen this chick before or dealt with her ever! At bar close when she stopped serving us. (and mind you it was an act of Congress to even get her to serve us in the first place) she kept pouring shots for two male customers who were sitting at the opposite end of the bar. It's too bad because it was my friends birthday and we wanted to have a good time and spend money but I will never walk in there if she's working again... That's one Rude, bitter and definitely unhappy...

Wife and I are new to the area and looked up some places to eat as we were driving. We decided to stop at Hanks. Worst description ever! I tried the perch fish fry and my wife had the regular fish and chips which I assume was cod. My wife’s fish was hot but over cooked with cold fries. Mine on the other hand was the worst fish fry I ever had and possibly the worst food I ever had in my life. The fish was cold and soggy, not even like warm and the fries were cold. I ate about half of it being though I was so hungry and couldn’t do it any longer as I was having the gag effect through it all. Settled on a little bit of my wife’s over cooked fish. The only thing I got out of this experience was wanting to stick my finger down my throat to get it out of my stomach it was that bad!...

I can usually find something good to say about an establishment, but on this one I can't. Starts with no parking, I understand that the location is on a busy corner so be prepared to walk a couple of blocks. Seating yourself is the only option, although it's not posted anywhere, you just have to figure it out on your own. Waiter approached quickly after we sat down, but mid meal he disappeared. I had to get drink refills at the bar and then was told he was in the kitchen. Food was average to subpar, potatoes very salty and steak and burger quality not up to the price that was charged. Restrooms were dirty, and dining room chairs were torn and in terrible condition. Overall a poor visit to someplace wishing to be known as...
