Unfortunately, BLACKROCK has gone downhill. I live 8 mintues away and been coming here since day one with my father and seeing lonnie and his family do amazing with this place until just recently the last three times I have came here were horrible. Im a regular that comes weekly if not more but the past two months I havent. The overall experience last night just isn't the same anymore and doubt we will ever be back as it left a bad taste in my mouth even before we got a table. Here is the story- I don't know where to start as they used to be 5 stars and now not even one stars in my book! There nothing more worst than horrible host who can't even manage the front, We went to blackrock and waited as they said it be a wait and next to be seated, so we put are name on list with no one ahead of us, 20 mintues go by and host (blonde/pony) told me it be 5 min and clearing a table out for us. I said thank you alot cant wait with a smile, 8 mintues went by and there was 3 host at this time a table of 5 got seated before us, I didnt think anything of it until my other half pointed it out, I stated no lets give it a few more mintues so 15 minutes went by I went over to ask host how much longer since bella(I believe, blonde) said it be 5 mintues they are clearing table for you now, (new host dark hair while other hides behind her) She states they gave are table to a table of 5 instead of us. They didn't even let us know of this incident and didn't even apologize and said there nothing they can do...at this point it was over 35 mins I was in there, I asked them okay how much longer then and they said about 20 more minutes after they just told me 5 minutes so a total of almost 1 hour becaue of someone (host) messed up, so I said okay well I see there are open booth back there can we sit there, she said no its for bigger parties and not open for you! I was completey in disbelief about this as no one even apologize, made accommodations and they gave are table to someone else saying oh the host didn't know someone was ahead even though we were only ones in list and they just walked in... smh never again be going there as I walked out and I ended up calling them and got hung up on by bella when I said I wanted to speak to lead manager. 😒 I went to Tony Saccos for the win! Check out Tony Saccos The welcome smiles and atmosphere of Tony saccos pizzeria makes customers feel relaxed and have a good time not a bad taste in your mouth like blackrock. The food is so good I always get the boneless wings however bone in is great too. I enjoy there salads and most of all the pizza!! Go to Tony Saccos and support a local...

A Disappointing Birthday Experience at Black Rock

We had been long-time fans of Black Rock, having reserved it as our go-to spot for special occasions. However, the experience we recently had left a sour taste that, unfortunately, will linger for quite some time.

We chose to spend my wife's birthday dinner here, expecting the usually reliable standard of service and cuisine we had grown to know and love. With five kids at home and a babysitter to allow us a rare, special night out, we had high hopes for an evening of delight. Regrettably, the evening proved anything but.

The initial greeting at our table was delayed by 15 minutes, a period during which we were left unattended and forgotten. When our drinks eventually arrived, they were not as per the usual standard; they were served warm and without ice - a detail that may seem small, but it was the first in a series of unfortunate missteps.

The real test of patience was, however, the food. After waiting for over an hour, a period of time significantly longer than what we would normally expect, we were served the wrong dishes. The mistake was rectified and our food was taken back to the kitchen. Disappointingly, the second attempt didn't yield any better results and our orders were still incorrect.

By 7:00 PM, after having been there since 5:15 PM, we decided we had given Black Rock enough chances. We informed our waiter that we had to leave and while he was profusely apologetic, his apology wasn't enough to salvage the evening.

Most striking was the absence of the manager who did not make an appearance to acknowledge the problems or to offer an apology. It is at times like these where management intervention can turn around a poor experience, yet, the opportunity was missed.

Their only compensation for the entire debacle was a rather underwhelming offer of a free appetizer on our next visit. For a family that doesn't get to dine out often, this gesture felt like a slap in the face rather than a genuine attempt to make up for their mistakes.

As it stands, we are disappointed and dismayed, and unfortunately, Black Rock has lost some loyal customers. It is my hope that they take this feedback to heart and ensure that no other patrons have to experience such an unpleasant evening. It was a birthday dinner that will be remembered for all the...

Mother's Day 2024 arrived at noon. My sister ordered pino gregio wine, the waitress returned saying they were out of that wine. This is the worst buffet ever for us & $30 each! All food was terrible. Breakfast food, in particular bacon and sausage, looked grey and under cooked (didn't select either). The ribs were small, dry & tough! Dinner Buffet was scraps left and cold. BBQ chicken small nuggets, mostly breading, a tiny bit of chicken inside and prepared in with too much hot sauce in the bbq sauce. Hallibut or Haddock fish and chicken ran out, had to wait a long time and were walking away when a new pan arrived. The fish was small and fell apart when serving, the chicken was dry and tasteless. The food ran out for coconut shrimp and shrimp scampi. Again had to wait, wait was so long we took scraps! Had to wait for shrimp scampi (only decent item on buffet but served in a pan of watery broth no butter flavor and not hot). The coconut shrimp was mostly breading with a few shreds of coconut and only maybe half filled with shrimp. No cocktail sauce, tartar sauce or lemon wedges in sight. At our table we asked for cocktail sauce. The waitress said she would make us some!! She brought lemon slices not wedges that one could squeeze. Serve spoons were on one side only so you waited for other side to use the spoon. Green Beans were under cooked, almost raw, the serve spoon could not hold the green beans as they were stiff. Mac & cheese had no cheese flavor, was in a white sauce and was cold. No salad! No roll or breads served. The desserts were terrible. The dessert area was jammed-in at the end of bar. No ice cream for awful the brownies (not their menu brownies), apple crisp was only ok. Donuts/pastry were all dough pastry, one bit was enough. BTW, that's where the salad was, but bowl was empty! We were so embarrassed that we invited company to join us. Had to complain to the sweet waitress and asked her to please let the manager know our complaints as food was not right. The manager took $30 off the check (we did not ask by the way) but the bad food and embarrassment did not cover our disappointment. PS. The dinner plates were the restaurant's salad plates that this restaurant uses for their...

My daughter and I went here before we went to a daddy daughter dance (dressed as penguins!)! We did priority seating online and waited less than 30 mins from the time we checked in. I heard them telling people behind us that it was going to be at least a 1.5 hour wait! I have been here one other time, not this location but another! I got the ribeye, Caesar salad, asparagus and a smoked old fashioned to drink. Unfortunately due to the storm, they were running low on bourbon and made my drink with Woodford! I wasn't let down with this as Woodford is one of my more favorite bourbon! The smokiness add to my favorite classic drink was a nice addition to the experience. I loved that the salad had a giant parmesano crisp that I cracked on my over it (picture after I did that lol) We had an incredible waitress, Addison (please correct me if I'm wrong here!) I think her name was! She was just wonderful in such a busy night, line out the door at 5pm. Ribeye, seemed a little fatty from what I'm used to, but had good flavor. The asparagus as my side was asparagus, I mean toss it in a sautéed shallot with red wine reduction with thyme, lemon, and butter; elevate it a little! I would give this restaurant a lower score as I pay 30-40 for a steak that I end up cooking myself. Just a basic, unseasoned steak... it irritates me the price is as high as it is when I cook it. Now calm down I know most of you all are probably like "its the experience that makes it worth it!", and I understand, I just don't think the steak should still cost as much. I mean seriously when it comes down to it, paying that much for a steak that I cook myself isn't worth that because I could get a thicker, larger Ribeye, for the cost of the steak there. My daughter loves it, we had wonderful service, and everything they made for us, was exceptional. I would definitely come back and would definitely recommend calling ahead for priority seating!

So this was our first time at the MI location. We are frequent guests at the Beevercreek ohio location and love it. Our experience here was very good but the was a couple disappointments. We got the dynamic Duo with jumbo shrimp as a substitution for the sizzling shrimp. We decided to share that because it's plenty of food for two people but this was the first time our fillet came out on top of the sizzling rocks already. We typically like to cook one at a time that way they are each hot when we get to eat it. So we did have to take two of the fillets off after they were half seared which did alter the dining experience. With that being said the fillets were still delicious. The only other complaint I would have is I ate the asparagus as soon as they got to the table and it was refrigeration cold not even lukewarm or room temperature. When we asked our server for a replacement she was more than happy to bring us piping hot asparagus which was very very good. The service was outstanding and we have absolutely no complaints about that whatsoever. The one family with the screaming child was less than par but that in no way reflects upon the establishment. *Please take your screaming kids outside if they cannot be quiet indoors.* Steaks were awesome. Jumbo shrimp was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable about what gluten safe options were available (I have celiac disease) and what would be cross contaminated. Will definitely be back again.

Overall, fantastic experience. I love Black Rock at a baseline, and last night’s food and drinks were all delicious and perfect. Our waitress was nice and attentive, and even made sure to ask what pace we wanted things (asked if we wanted her to wait a few minutes to put our drink order in while we finished our current ones, and asked when we were ready for her to have the steaks put in so we could enjoy our soups/salads first). The soup 3-wayz is AMAZING! That being said, the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because they don’t honor everything on their menu. This screenshot clearly shows that the soup 3-wayz is available as a premium side for a $3.99 upcharge, but we were told that wasn’t true and we actually can’t order as a side and it’s not $3.99. Only option was to order it separate for $6.99 and pick a different side for the meal. While $3.99 extra did seem too good to be true for 3 soups, it’s bad business to advertise it as such then tell the customer they can’t order what’s clearly listed, then force them to either order something else or order more food than they wanted just to still get it. Especially for a place where you’re easily racking up a $75-100 bill. Just make the menu up-charge $6.99 (many other things are), or take it off as an option. Other than this irritation, it was a great experience.
