I only discovered Sophia's several months ago but have been a dozen times since, because the food was great. Atmosphere is on point for the menu. Two days ago, my son requested to eat there after his baseball practice, as he loves their meatball sub and fries (with ranch dressing). I ordered my typical- tuna salad sub and side salad. After ordering I went to the salad bar to fix my salad. While at the bar, I grabbed an extra bowl and filled it about halfway with ranch dressing for my son. I get back to the table and almost finish the salad before our drinks arrived. The waitress was kind and admitted she forgot about them- no big deal for me. What frustrated me more than anything was the extra salad charge ($3.95) added to my bill because I used a 2nd bowl for the dressing. I confronted the waitress and she stated the fee was accurate because I used a 2nd salad bowl. Of course I wanted to speak with the manager. To my shock, she stated the same thing the waitress said. Despite me telling her I had nothing but dressing in the bowl, she would not remove the charge. I couldn't believe it!! $3.95 for a couple tablespoons of ranch that they offer for free if they bring it to you in their plastic containers!! They have lost a new customer who comes regularly to this town. I didn't complain about the waitress forgetting our drinks. Maybe I should have gotten the rest of the missing "salad" to go. Horrible customer service!! Be careful of...
Read moreI've always had a very enjoyable dining experience here until today. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, didn't mind the unusually long wait because the food is always worth it. The waitress sits my food down and walks off, I proceed to salt my tomato and see there's no bacon. I get her attention and tell her I wanted a bacon cheeseburger, her response was "oh yea, they outta bacon, she's just going to give you a discount". I was shocked because I would think the 1st thing to do would be to come ask me if I still wanted a plain cheeseburger, which I didn't. I would have changed my order and got something I did want and left satisfied. I ate the burger because I was starving and didn't want to wait another 20 to 30 minutes on something else. Yes, I guess I am thankful for the $1.50 discount but next time, ask a person if they still want what they ordered minus whatever you can't provide, don't just assume. This situation could have been...
Read moreThis is a review strictly for one menu item. The chicken souvlaki and everything else on the menu I have had, was 5/5 stars. Perfection. This was not a real gyro. Not even real fresh ingredients or fresh meat. Frozen food. The gyro was literally the instant FROZEN kit. If you don’t believe me the instant kit and this frozen pita are the same dimensions. To add insult to injury.. it was $15. Wish I could have that $28 for two gyro meals back in my pocket. You can get 4 in the kit for $6.68.. this was insanity. Go down the road to pita pit if you want an actual gyro. It consisted of no cucumber or feta cheese, no diced tomatoes, just big ones. No dill.. however once again the rest of the food I have had has been phenomenal. Best Greek food in the area. Amazing staff, adorable atmosphere. Fair prices and good portions on most items. Go here if you want good food. Run away if you want...
