La Casa Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hastings

La casa is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Hastings or in the entire area actually, the food is amazing. They always prepare it how you request with out any problems. The staff is friendly and kind. They will wrestle the cook staff to get your order right if need be but it's normally unnecessary because the cook staff is amazing as well. They might complain about my side of ranchero sauce with my chimichanga n how it's not for that but they always serve it to me anyway like I request and that is all I can ask for.....an abundance of ranchero...

The atmosphere here is nice, but casual. The food is fresh and tastes very good. I am a large guy (tall and hefty) so the booths feel a bit small and the chairs a little under cushioned. However, I really like eating here because of the quality of the food.

The service is usually quick and friendly, but you may have to ask for a refill as the staff is small. But this makes it even more homey feeling as they are willing to help you out.

I would like to start off by saying I LOVE menudo and flour tortillas... But this was the worst I've ever seen!! More than half of the quart was liquid, I got one soup bowl of HUGE chunks of tripe with almost zero hominy. There was also a whole bone in the container, and even worse I almost chipped a tooth on a smaller piece. My husband was told 10 mins on a to-go order of just this and he waited 30. I ended up throwing it away. Someone's mother should be ashamed of them for this...
