Tonight my husband and I went for a pre-anniversary dinner at Odyssey. It was a lovely dining experience. He ordered his first generous pour of a premium bourbon upon arrival. They usually always have a selection that meets the needs of his snooty whiskey pallet. Soon, after wavering between the bruschetta board and the parmesan truffle chips, we jointly chose the parmesan truffle chips. They are very good. Be careful though. They are served with a sanbal sauce that goes well with the chips. The sanbal has a definite zing to it. I like it, but , if you have a delicate tolerance, you might want to dip in accordingly. After aggressively enjoying the parmesan truffle chips, we ordered our meals. Btw, our server was a nice man named Dale. He was appropriately knowledgeable and presented himself and the menu in the best manner. I ordered the salmon with a double down serving of brussel sprouts. My husband ordered a large fillet with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. He also went with the additional mushrooms and caramelized onions on the fillet. We thoroughly appreciated our selections. My husband enjoyed yet another generous pour of premium bourbon. The meats were cooked as we preferred and the sides were fantastic. As we were scraping every last bite off of our plates, a hosting lady brought us the dessert menu. We were plenty full, but dessert is my thing. I ordered a banana after dinner drink to go. The drink was a very nice ending to a great. Anniversary dinner. I resent we didn't send a six pack to the kitchen. Many thanks for a wonderful time!

The warm ambiance wraps around you like a comforting embrace, making it clear that this is a place where passion for food and hospitality thrives. The inviting scent of freshly prepared dishes wafts through the air. Ambiance is abundant. As I settled into my seat at the bar, the attentive barlady greeted me with a genuine smile that hinted at her commitment to creating a memorable dining experience. The menu, a thoughtful blend of traditional and contemporary flavors, promised an adventure for the palate. My ribeye that arrived at my seat was a masterpiece, thoughtfully plated and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh, locally sourced, and each bite told a story of culinary expertise and love. It was evident that the chefs poured their hearts into every aspect, elevating the dining experience far beyond the ordinary. I couldn’t help but feel grateful for discovering such a hidden treasure in this small town. Odyssey restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a celebration of community, culture, and the joy of sharing a meal. As I savored the final bites, I knew I had stumbled upon something truly special, an experience that would linger in my memory long after the last bite was gone. Genuinely gracious owner. Friendly, passionate and engaged, listening patiently to my comments and responding thoughtfully. Her passion enveloped every response she gave. I wil surely be back as soon as I can. Wish I could give 6 stars!

Oh my goodness. What an amazing experience. Seriously so great that I pulled both managers working to tell them how amazing everything and everyone was. So buckle down, this is going to be a long review with names of the awesome staff involved. I'm sure everyone working at Odyssey is top notch, the people mentioned are just the ones we had the pleasure encountering tonight.

Let's start by saying my husband and I aren't your typical Odyssey customers, however we are food fanatics and enjoy the Odyssey for a special treat of date night.

We walk in the door and get an amazing welcome by the hostesses, Amber and Kyra. We instantly felt welcome. One of them, I can't remember which, told me I looked lovely and that just made my whole night. Heck, it made my whole year. I don't get out much so the few times I do my make up and hair, it's great to get complimented by another woman.

We sit at the bar as all the tables are taken. This is to be expected at 6:30 on a Friday night and was our plan. We are instantly greeted by both bartenders - Austin and Danii. They take great care of us all night while juggling the bar and making drinks for the whole restaurant. They were working nonstop. If you've never ate at a bar, I encourage you to do so and watch how hard the bartenders work. Their customer service was top notch. So friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They managed to talk to us while working, but also knew to "leave us alone" while we were catching up with a friend who happened to be there.

They took our orders quickly and kept the drinks coming. The offered desert with no pressure. Made recommendations and answered all of questions.

Then the food came out. Omg. Delicious. We started with brocheta boards and they were to die for. I ordered the swordfish that came with a delicious pasta with tomatoes and squash. I also ordered a side of risotto. It was all so perfect. I've never had swordfish before and I now have high expectations for it as this was what dreams are made of. Cooked perfectly and so delicious. My husband had a steak with Mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. His steak was cooked to literal perfection and tasted amazing. We ate every last bite it was so good. We had to try desert so we got a creme Brule. If you put heaven in a dish and torch it, that's what it would taste like. This food would make Gordan Ramsey drool.

Sarah, a manager, came over as she hear my husband talk about his company from Minnesota and wanted to tell us a story. She was so personable and topped the whole experience. I told her how great our experience had been and how wonderful our bartenders were. She was smiling so big and you could tell she took pride in her work, team, and the restaurant.

Later, I called over the other manager, Lexi. I told her the same. I said we aren't your typical customers but we have truly enjoyed our experience. She welcomed us back anytime and made us feel like we belonged.

After we left, and a couple hours later, I called to ask for the hostesses name for this review. I talked to Joslynn on the phone and to no surprise she was equally as awesome as everyone else. At this point in the evening, I was admittedly a little tipsy after going out after supper on our date night (Momma doesn't get out much). Joslynn seemed to enjoy my comments and not be annoyed one bit.

Long story short. 1 million/10 recommend. Even if you think you don't belong, the staff will make you feel like you do. The food is beyond great, the atmosphere is unique, but the customer service can't be found...

If you come to Hastings this is the place for dinner. Earlier in the day when we had coffee and chatted with some of the locals we received multiple references to go to Odyssey for dinner. Getting them from the locals I guess is the old style Yelp. Where you talk to people. Anyway Odyssey is a wonderful place with a wonderful menu that we really loved. You can start out with a appetizer board and pick whichever items you want we had tapenade and something like a bruschetta and a couple other wonderfully flavorful items. The bread was toasted perfectly the right amount of tapenade was on top and the little bite-size pieces made the perfect appetizer. The place was packed due to the big Eclipse crowd but we were able to sit at the bar and we're served by Charming Charming bartender. The bar is well stocked with so many items it's impossible to tell and the wine list has classy wines from all over the United States. We were impressed. But onto the meal I had a beautiful filet with a peppercorn sauce and some garlic mashed. Flavorful tender wonderful cooked perfectly oh and a few other carry on carry on words. I don't know how it could have been better. It was just the right amount of food and I was pleased. She had a big old bowl of udon noodles that were spicy spicy and she was excited when they were done. We chatted with the manager for a little bit don't know how that showed up, but we did and he was wonderfully engaging as was our bartender. We'll be back Odyssey whence we return to Hastings. Oh and we find Hastings to be such a Charming little town....
