UPDATE AS OF AUGUST:
I have been back a few times now, and I have to say it has gotten much better! The food is delicious. My order has not been messed up once, and it is timely. There is something off about the sauce for the rangoon lately. Can't put my finger on it, but that is being picky, which is a good thing in comparison to the past. Definitely willing to continue eating here.
UPDATE AS OF APRIL 12th:
I went back as part of a teacher group two weeks ago for lunch and then with a friend group last night after hearing that changes.were being made. I do have to say that I am pleased. Staffing does seem to be changing. That said, anticipate some hiccups as new.people learn. However, our food was timely, we got all of our food, and it tasted good. The servers were extremely polite and checked back often. Last night, she kept apologizing for how busy it was, and how much time it took, but it actually didn't take that long at all. It was so refreshing to have such energy and cheery personality. So, I'm willing to give it a shot again. I'm leaving my original post as a record to show, hopefully, that things continue to improve. My original post gave it one star. I will increase by a star for every good experience I have in a streak from here on...
ORIGINAL POST OF JANUARY 5TH EXPERIENCE: Not happy with Ninja. Besides the fact it took awhile to get our food and while we waited the server never checked back which ended in my husband's glass sitting empty for some time, the server lied! The first thing out of my mouth was that I wanted beef yakisoba followed by a chef roll followed by lobster rangoon. He managed to get the last two, but when my husband's food FINALLY came, my beef yakisoba didn't. We waited another five minutes thinking it would come, but then flagged the server down. He pretended to look back at his notes and told me I never ordered it. We demanded the bill, and right there on the bill was my beef yakisoba he so adamantly said I never ordered! We paid for the sushi and drinks but refused to pay for anything else and walked out. I could understand it if he forgot, but to tell me it's my fault then have it on the bill is ridiculous! On top of that, he didn't even apologize! Instead, he changed his story again and said he checked and checked, but the cooks never made it. Worse is that he chastised us for expressing our frustration with him as being inappropriate! Seriously?!?! Not going back any time soon, which is sad since we frequently went there. Unfortunately, though, service has gotten...
Read moreI cannot believe that when I googled this place that it showed a 4-star rating. I was horribly deceived and want to make sure other people understand that this is most definitely not a place that you want to eat. My husband and I visit MANY steak and sushi restaurants all over the country. This is literally the only one that I’ve ever felt so compelled to write a review about. We were greeted, seated, the server was friendly, and our drinks were fine (Pepsi and Iced Tea). The sushi menu seemed huge though there was nothing on it that we really liked. I was disappointed because there was no crab Rangoon on the menu they only offer lobster Rangoon. We did order it and it was very similar to crab Rangoon. My husband really liked it and I ate one piece but just prefer imitation crab since I don’t eat seafood. We noticed that the menu was very cheap compared to any other restaurant of this kind and I found that questionable but we ordered a chicken bento box and a salmon dinner with steak added. We ordered the food cooked without and with no sauce on it because all they offered was teriyaki sauce which we aren’t interested in and the steak was ordered well-done. My husband’s salmon came covered in sauce, Both of us were served cold food, the steak was very red inside, and we both spit the fried rice back into our plates. I’m willing to admit that I have higher expectations of my food but listen, my husband will eat almost anything without complaining and even he left his food uneaten and asked for a ticket. He explained to the server what all the issues were and that was after I had told her all of mine and showed her the uncooked steak. He told her to touch the food to prove that it was cold. She said that she was unhappy with the new cook because we were the 4th complaint that day yet she made us pay almost $20 for part of our uneaten, spit-back-into the plate food that made us both sick the rest of the evening/night. My husband and I both woke up this morning still feeling sick from that food. I truly hope that this doesn’t make me never want steak and sushi again but it really was that bad. I don’t know how you can mess up a California Roll but even...
Read moreIdeally I love this place but lost stars yesterday as our waitress wasn't the best. Told her it's first time for the others but I come here a lot, she took that as she should try to force us to get certain sushi but wouldn't explain what's in them or what our tastes we like. Then I told her I will help them (I do more Japanese then my family so I always help them out) and to give us few minutes. This should of been a clue it wasn't going to be a good night... so finally I got figure out what sushi to get. We waited 10 minutes. I watched her be at the desk looking at some video or something on the other waitress phone and she didn't check or look to see if we were ready. We had to wave and speak loudly for her to see we are ready. We get our food and start to eat. We ended up with sushi and then chicken habchi. We got full off the sushi so we wanted to take our habchi home. She comes over and askes if everything is ok, i go to ask for boxes, she inyerupts me to ask if we need boxes, was very rude. So She brings over 3 small boxes then quickly rushes off without asking if we need anything else. So we wave her back over to ask if there is any bigger and she stumbled on her words to tell us it's all they have, which would be ok if she explained and asked if 3 would be enough. She quickly runs off before we can ask for another box. So my father had to get up and go grab one as she was now ignoring us and up at the front again talking to the other lady. Oh! And when I asked what a tai tea is she couldn't explain at all, she should probably learn the menu better? And she needs to make sure we are set and not run off so quickly as we also had to wave her down to get some yum yum sauce. Not bashing or hating as I love ninjas and hope they stay forever! But I believe in helping and letting ninja know so they can improve or help the waitress out, I never did get her name but she is younger Asian with glasses. I was really hoping to impress my family with this place and that kinda killed...
