All you people complaining about the young kids working...first of all they are all of age to work. But for most of them this is their first job..and I see nothing wrong with a high schooler trying to earn some extra money to buy themselves a car or pay for their cell phone. And to expand on that, it may be their first job and they may get a little stressed, this place can get really busy and not everyone handles pressure perfectly. But the owner is a really nice guy and treats his workers with such respect! But there are rules that employees have to follow and anyone that’s had a job should understand that. No one is perfect, but I give credit to the kids who work here and bust their butts trying their best to serve everyone what they need when there is also a line of 15 people and 8+ orders at drive through. We are all only human, forgive when mistakes are made.
And yes they do close their kitchen 30 minutes before the store closes because it takes a while to close kitchen and some nights these high schoolers are working 10-10:30 on a school night. They want to be able to get out of there as quick as possible.
Lastly, ALL DQ’s only have vanilla, and if the DQ near you has chocolate you’re lucky. Because some of them don’t.
Some of you sound very entitled, it’s a Dairy Queen not a 5 star restaurant. But they...
Read moreIt’s been a rough few days for me, and Dairy Queen is usually my go to when I need a little comfort. After spending time at the hospital with my sick mom and dealing with a lot of stress, I tried to get myself together, and decided to treat myself to a Royal New York Cheesecake Blizzard at this location around 4:30 today. But when I opened it up in the parking lot, I realized it was missing the cheesecake chunks I always look forward to.
I went inside to ask if this was the right one, just explaining it didn’t have the chunks. The girl who took my order was nice and tried to help, but the girl who made the Blizzard was pretty insistent, she said she made the blizzard "how it supposed to be" and told me if I wanted more chunks, I’d have to pay extra. The way she looked at me and her tone just make me feel uncomfortable. I wasn’t asking for extra, just for it to be fixed or for a chance to pay if I ordered it wrong.
At that point, I knew I'm was wasting my time so I just left, didn't want to argue with her, and threw the Blizzard away, tell myself it's alright and drove to another Dairy Queen. They made it just the way I always like it.
I wasn’t expecting anything crazy, just a little politeness and a simple fix. Unfortunately, the interaction here just left me...
Read moreI normally don’t write reviews but my experience bothered me...I normally go to the Souderton PA location and I always experience wonderful customer service. The first time I went there I ordered a meal deal and explained to the waitress that i didn’t need the sundae that came with my meal as I was diabetic and she informed me of a low sugar option ice cream bar (which is wonderful by the way) and was so impressed that they have an option for people with sugar challenges.. since my travels took me another direction today I stopped by the COLMAR PA location and ordered my usual...and they promptly told me that my only option was a sundae and couldn’t get the low sugar bar when I advised them that the Souderton location along with the Quakertown location didn’t have an issue with this..they said they couldn’t do it. When I ask if they have a sugar free option because I was diabetic they said no and then gave me a bag with a sundae in it.. I promptly gave it back to her stating that I couldn’t take because of the sugar..she looked at me like I had 3 heads...Moral of this story is if you have sugar challenges don’t go to the Colmar location as they don’t offer options for diabetics.....
Sounderton and Quakertown seems to be more than happy...
