ISOLA Pizzeria and Bar — Restaurant in Hatteras Island

This place is great! Stopped in for dinner here tonight after an afternoon on Frisco Beach. The staff was attentive and the food was tasty. I had the pretzel with beer cheese and a 12” Truffle Shroom pizza.

The pretzel is probably one of my favorite I’ve ever had anywhere. It wasn’t too salty, but had a ton of flavor with Parmesan, and the beer cheese was really delicious.

The atmosphere was great: kind of a sports bar/neighborhood pub feel. A lot of the folks at other tables were talking about things they have been doing or hanging out with friends.

My only picky complaints were the indoor lighting throughout the restaurant is too blue of a color temperature—almost fluorescent—which is fine for the kitchen, but not inviting for the dining areas. Also the bathroom was quite hot. I’m guessing that the AC doesn’t make it in there with the door shut.

Anyways, I took half my meal to go for another meal tomorrow. I would definitely eat here on the regular if...

My husband and I have been waiting to see this place opened up again. Many years ago it was a local Italian place but closed and we missed. Now it is open, currently Wednesday thru Sunday lunch and dinner. We were there early and there weren’t many patrons. Seems to have a brisk takeout business. I will add pics of this place. It seems very family friendly. When we left around 630 pm there were 5 tables with families eating. The bar has 16 seats and I noticed three additional bar seats up against wall. Not sure if they would fit actually up at the bar. I was very pleasantly surprised with menu offerings. The burrata and tomatoes and pesto appetizer was great. The margherita pizza was fantastic see pics.. my husband had the menu special scampi and truly enjoyed! I had a specialty drink, limoncello gin fizz and gave it high marks! I really enjoyed our visit and hope it’s still doing well next time we are...

Was here April/May timeframe - ordered the Marguerite pizza - it was just ok...not like Rocco's....wings needed to be more crisp but after reading reviews we just need to ask for more crispy wings. Our group was back down this weekend - ordered the smash burgers and fries - it was amazing - soooo good - fries are outstanding! Although family members ordered the supreme pizza which crust was dry and center was soggy.... this young family of 4 ate half but did not want to take other half home...We will stick to the smash burger/fries...really hate being so critical - hope this helps to improve...I generally don't leave reviews but so enjoyed Rocco's for so many years and will definately go to Isola's for their crispy wings and the smash burger/fries...but will try pizza one more time in case we hit a bad night...but will be a regular for smash...
