Mirro’s Makes Good Food Our family arrived a bit early for our Saturday beach rental check-in, so we decided to visit Mirro’s for a bite to eat for lunch. The sign says it is a new place for 2023. The cafe was busy, with all seats and tables full inside. Thus, we took our place at one of the outside tables on the side porch. We picked up a menu and then placed our order at the counter. We had two shrimp Po-boy sandwich baskets and a fish-n-fries basket. The Po-boys and the fish tasted very good. However, for the price ($20 for each sandwich), the Po-Boys could have had a few more shrimp and the fish basket should have included two pieces of fried fish. That said, the food was all fresh, cooked very well, and served piping hot. The counter staff and attendants were all very friendly and helpful. They cleared tables quickly and we were able to move to an inside, air-conditioned table soon. In summary, the food was good, but the price was a bit steep for the amount of food received.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The parking lot is a little bumpy, so keep a close eye on your puddle jumping toddlers. Walk in, find a table, check out the menu and then go up and order. Indoor and outdoor seating. Kids chicken tenders were as expected, the kids burger was a smaller patty on a full size bun and the three year old said it was spicy. I didn’t think so, I thought it was great, but if you have a kid who doesn’t like spice be aware. The kids fish plate was a good amount of fish, and all the kids plates came with a good amount of fries, even my ten year old didn’t finish them. Husband got the fish tacos and they were very good and generous with the fish and toppings. I got the Mahi BLT and buddy, it was a good choice. The aioli was spicy and so good, fish was tasty and the bacon was crispy. I shouldn’t have upgraded to fries cause it was more food than I could eat. Price was $10-$20 per order. Glad we picked this place, evidently it’s only been opened since April 2023.

The food was amazing. We went there the day before for lunch and my husband and I enjoyed it so much we came back with the whole family (9 of us). My only complaint was one of the workers came up to us after we moved a smaller table to accommodate 6 of us and told us after the fact we couldn’t move the tables; this was a good 15 minutes after the fact. There were no signs to state this, and we dropped well over several hundred dollars for breakfast along with hefty tips. I apologized to her and said we would put them back, to which she said, “No, it’s too late.” After this she proceeded to write up signs to place on every table “don’t move the tables” in front of us using packing tape rather noisily making her point well known. I thought this was rather unwelcoming and petty. They were not busy at the time and there was only one other table that had anyone sitting in it. Other than that, I loved the food. The rudeness, not so much.

1st, I want to say thank you for opening the business and allowing my wife and I a place to stop while on such a long drive into the island. We will try you again as I feel that with time and suggestions from your peers, my minor issues will be non-existent.

We had the fries and gravy with cheese. Gravy was good, fries were crisp, and cheese melted. I had the "legendary" shrimp tacos blackened, and my wife had the mushroom swiss burger. Although the tacos were not bad, they had only the flavor of the cilantro, jalapeño and onions. It's probably due to how much was added. I was expecting some sort of house sauce on them to make me remember your establishment. The burger was THICK, not an issue normally, but it was dry and unseasoned. My wife actually split the burger longways and added the gravy from the fries. That made it moist and allowed the fixings on the burger to come through.

Again, I do recommend trying this place, and I will again when back on the island.

Things to note:

Grab the menu inside Find what you want to eat Goto counter to order Grab seat Food will be brought to the table You can leave your plates/utensils on the table when done. Indoor/Outdoor Seating (dont sit under AC vents, they drip) Casual atmosphere/ family friendly Pricing is fair for location and current cost of food.

Thanks...
