The Vietnamese equivalent of the Chinese food you get on a street corner in North Philly. Very Americanized. Shredded iceberg lettuce where they shoudl be bean sprouts, "pickled" carrots and daikon that I had to try a few times to even tell if they were pickled, not sure they were. Nach cham that was mostly sugar water. If they are using "home made" fish sauce as it says on the menu, you would think that would be the star, so I am calling BS. The Bun Thit Nuong/ Grilled Pork Vermicelli had no basil, no cilantro, no mint, no peanuts, no limes. The Nem Nuong/ Grilled Meatballs were mostly acceptable. (had a teaspoon of crushed peanuts) and tomatoes not cucumber? The Hanoi Rolls did not come with peanut sauce and were 99.9% vermicelli and the above-mentioned lettuce. The staff and the service were fine for the type of restaurant. It is a little pricy for, what I am saying, is poor quality food. They get a lot of take out Grub Hub...
Read moreI pass this place all the time, and I have always wondered about their food. I have recently become very interested in pho and Ramen, so I wanted to give it a try. The food was good; I ordered the beef pho, shrimp rolls, and crispynoodleswithchicken. I will preface this by saying that I work in the food and beverage industry. The water came quickly, but there were little particles floating in the glass. It took like 10 minutes for the waitress to come get our order. I had to literally raise my hand to get any service. It was so bad that, at one point, I had my hand up, and I guy inside the kitchen had to come out and tell the waitress to assist me. Food was okay. I may try again, but I will...
Read moreTonight was our first visit and I can easily say we will be back! The food was great as was the selection, but that wasn't the half of it.
Against our better judgement, we went with our 3-year-old and he behaved as expected including dropping his cup of water all over the floor, dropping his fork, then dropping hours chopsticks. Twice.
In spite of all of that, their staff was amazing and patient and kind, immediately coming to our table with solution after solution, including solving the dropping chopsticks issue by bringing us a perfect kid friendly pair they had made up. It was a hit and he ate the rest of his food with chopsticks for the first time!
The visit ended by one of our servers running out to our car to bring us a sweater we'd left behind. I tell you, if not for their incredible patience and sweet demeanour, we'd have left frustrated and embarrassed! Five...
