We had a not so pleasant experience at the Iron Rail. We ordered two turkey dinners that tasted awful. I returned my turkey dinner because the meal didn’t taste right. The turkey tasted like a cheap butterball chicken with pork gravy and had a smoked flavor along with the stuffing, the mashed potato also had a weird flavor. The roll looked like a potato and didn’t taste like bread. To make matters worse the Sprite was watered down and did not taste like Sprite. They allowed us to swap out my meal for a BLT with Fries however they still charged us for two turkey dinners and failed to adjust the bill. It was a big to-do just having the Sprite removed from the bill and the waitress expressed workers in the kitchen being in bad moods not happy with me returning my meal. In the end, what they tried to make right they ended up making wrong by not adjusting the bill as requested. No apologies were made on their part and it was overall a bad experience eating there. We will not be returning to the Iron Rail. Cheap quality food, expensive price and poor service! I would not recommend...
Read moreHad lunch here recently. The restaurant re-opened recently. The inside is all remodeled including the restrooms. They had list of draft beer names displayed on a black board, but no description. The waitress was not familiar with the beers offered and suggested I get up and look at the board. After ordering my draft we ordered a side salad and a sandwich. My side Caesar Salad had too much dressing. My wife Garden Salad was good, with requested dressing on the side. I order the Beer Batter Fish Sandwich, which was very good and should have come with Chips, but I received Fries instead. I was not charged for the fries. The fries were a bit soft. My wife got the Shrimp Caesar wrap which was very good. She got what appeared to be homemade chips that were dark and unsalted. Seems like this restaurant is still working out re-opening process. I hope they consider adding a description of the Draft Beers and review the food preparation process. This restaurant has plenty of parking, but access to the restaurant is from a...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped on a whim to have a meal before we return to camping. I worked in hospitality many years ago, The waitress, Barbara, was energetic and delightful. Whoever the wednesday luncheon chef was, he/she was spot on. I had a steak with onion rings and seasonal squash. It was Cooked to perfection. My spouse had Beer battered fried Haddock, served with french fries and Coleslaw. All the fried food was excellent. Not greasy or unpalatable. Cocktails were good as expected. Not heavy handed, nor lacking. We camp nearby annually and we'll put this on our list of places to revisit. We hope to see Barbara again she was delightful. UPDATE: Returned for another meal about 2weeks later. This time, I had the Fish n Chips, and hubbie had the Salmon which was drizzled with a Balsamic glaze. Excellent again and so was our favorite waitress, Barbara. Be sure to...
