We have loved going to Chili's for many years, quite often at this location, and for the most part, have always had excellent service and food. The service on this occasion was horrible. We arrived mid-afternoon and the restaurant wasn't very busy. After being seated, it took quite awhile for our server to come to our table. We placed our order for chips and salsa, a soda and two drinks from the bar. After another long wait, our server returned with the chips and salsa and the soda. She told us she had been waiting on the bartender who was nowhere to be found. So we cancelled our drink orders and changed them to a water and a soda. We ordered our food. While we waited, our server helped out the many tables around us multiple times, but avoided our table-- never once checking to see if we needed anything. We had to get the attention of other servers to help us get more chips and salsa. We also couldn't get refills on our beverages. Finally our server came back to our table after we had been there almost an hour already to tell us that our food would be ready soon. At this point, we told them we just wanted our check and to leave. Within 5 minutes our food miraculously appeared carried in by the manager and another server. We told them to take it back and that we just wanted our check. I was truly shocked that even after explaining to the manager about the terrible service we received, she still charged us for the chips and salsa and two sodas (which we never even got refills for since our server never once checked on us after taking our food order). We have always loved dining here, but after this experience, I can't imagine going back to the Mililani, Hawaii location. We will probably try another Chili's in the future, but it will be awhile since this experience has lowered our opinion and view of the management and service of this company and how much they value...
Read moreMy fiancé and I visited this restaurant because we were in the mood for unlimited chips and dip (plus Ranch- -chips and ranch are a match made in heaven). When we came in we were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar top, but we decided to go with a table. The hostess was polite and let us know that she will clear a table and then seat us. We were sitting for a while until Cody came to let us know that his partner (forgot her name) was busy and that he could take our drink order for now. At that same moment, our server (we'll call her Mrs. "I don't want to be here" for now) came. She gave Cody the sharpest stare ever. The look of "What are you doing at my table" kind of look. It was very obvious that she was not a fan of him checking in on us. She then continued to take our drink order and my fiancé asked her about the local craft beers they had since he likes beer and he likes to support local. She was clueless on the topic and informed us that she had to ask the bartender. We waited and Cody showed up again - I guess she didn't want to serve us :(
He let us know the local craft beers and then proceeded to take our order. He was very informative and checked on us a good amount of times. If the management at the Mililani Chili's reads this review, please give Cody a huge Mahalo for making a rare date night worth it.
P.S. The only reason this review got a 4 out of 5 is because
the rude look that the initial server gave to someone was trying to make a customer's visit not so horrible by waiting long.
Suggestion: have a list of the local craft beers available...
If you are a Black person, just order takeout. Be sure to use a non black name to make sure your food isn't tampered with. When I first came to this island, my experience here was pretty smooth. We would come usually when it wasn't a nice crowd. The locals who work there are pretty polite. Everytime I get a white waitress, they are very dismissive, rude, & unfriendly. Every single time. I had a waitress waste water all over the table & she started acting annoyed with us as if we did it. We didn't even want to eat anymore. We asked for to go plates, paid, left tip, & got out of there! After that incident, we started ordering online, just so we could still enjoy the food without being uncomfortable. Well, that changed. I came to pick up my order recently, and the white waitress was rude! She ignored me as I tried letting her know I was there to pick up my order. I sat and waited a bit. No one helped. Finally, I stopped her & she quickly yelled "I'll be with you" & walked off. I sat down again. Nothing. She kept walking off, helping others, and sat at the register. When I stood up, she asked rudely "Did someone help you" I said no & I gave the name on the order. She rolled her eyes & walked off. A hawaiin worker brought me the order & was extremely polite, even aplogized for the wait. I'm just over this experience. I want the same treatment as all of the other customers. I'm nice, inviting, I DO TIP, & I'm not problematic. Why is it fair to give us so much rude energy???? Smh. I'm not even a sensitive person, but I can read the room well. I won't...
