Island Patty — Restaurant in Hawaii

Absolutely 5 stars. I took the wrong turn driving in Kaneohe and saw Island Pattys for the first time. Lived in NY for few years, came back to Oahu for good. I got really excited when I saw this place. I missed Jamaican foods so much so I thought I'll give it a try. My cravings satisfied! It was absolutely delicious! It brought me back to Queens NY, where Jamaican foods are the best! I had the jerk chicken with beans and rice, spice was perfect. The oxtail stew with beans and rice was perfect 👌 both plates had the stir fry cabbage, and both portions were more than I expected. Tried the beef patty as well and again it was delicious. "broke da mouth" as we say it here in Hawaii Nei. If you are looking for Jamaican foods you must try Island Pattys. Thank you, Michelle, you're the BEST! As a proud West Indian woman raised in a large Caribbean community in Brooklyn (big up Flatbush) I am very supportive but often skeptical when I see Jamaican food being sold as authentic.

I had the chance to try out island Patty and it is a must if you like Jamaican food. The jerk is not just hot and salty like many ja-fakin restaurants. The rice is wonderful. Cooking with peas (red kidney beans) and coconut water is not easy. It an easily get too sticky or mushy. The woman that helped me was really nice. I saw this place on a YouTube video and had to try it. (Food Fiend, Island Patty Kaneohe). I had the veggie patty with cheese. Soooo muuuuch flaaavor....yummmm! They open at 10am but was closed when I pulled up at 10:05. LOL They were still cooking other things but since they had what I wanted, I was able to buy my patties!!! Whew! Been there twice and haven't tried anything else cause I love the Patties!
