Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Hawaii

The one place I have found that has good southern sweet tea!!! Priceless. I'm not sure if I am always going at the right time or what exactly, but I've always walked in, ordered and had my food ready before I could make a drink. It's very clean and modern looking design inside, plenty of seating. I will agree the price is a bit high, even for Hawaii. I bought a 3 piece chicken meal with one side and a drink and it was almost 12 dollars. Actually it was exactly 11 dollars plus tax, which ended up being 11.52. Well, I was looking at the computer screen that showed in big bold blue print, 11 dollars. I counted out eleven dollars them the guy taking my order acted like I was trying to pull one over on him. He said, this is only 11 dollars! Like he has caught me. I wasn't trying to pull one over, and I don't like being treated like I am. So, the price, the cashier being rude, and the fact that you need a code to enter the bathroom! Knocks it down to four, but as far as the food is concerned- best fresh fried...

I am deeply disappointed. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.😞

It didn't start out that way though. Before I visited this particular Popeye's restaurant, I was ECSTATIC that they had one of my favorite fast-food chains here on Oahu.

So I went last night for the first time in anticipation of some of the same great quality chicken i have gotten many times on the mainland.

To my surprise and sadness, the 2-piece breast that I received was HORRIBLE and dry. How long had this chicken been sitting underneath the hot lamps before it got to me? It seems like it has been left out for days. There is NO WAY that this is just a few hours old. Look at how dry it is in the photo below.

Absolutely unacceptable and sure, it's fast food, so I'm certainly not looking for 4-star quality. But my goodness, can't we even follow the basics of providing fresh, hot food according to Popeye's corporate standards?

Our review of Popeye's Chicken in the Mililani Town Center. *Our previous view of Popeye's The Sandwich was Excellent - Crispy, Moist and Tender. *Today We Tried The Blackened Chicken Sandwich. It had no Crispy Coating. It was seasoned boneless chicken thigh. You can select regular or spicy. We chose spicy. The chicken thigh was not Moist, it was Dryer and Tuff not Moist. Now the taste, The Spice was like Black Pepper. But there was another sensation. *The faster I chewed the hotter my mouth got? This was Very Disturbing. When I got home, I got Extremely Sleepy and had to take a nap. I awoke 2 hours later. I truly believe the Chemicals or MSG in the Seasoning in The Blackened Chicken Sandwich Affected My Mental Status and Caused Drowyness and Unconsciousness for 2 hours. *We Do Not Recommend Trying The Blacked Chicken Sandwich from Popeye's Chicken !!!
