Worst visit to this for Pahoa Popeyes I have ever had!
The cashier Xavier was really sweet nice and trying to be a accommodating.
The manager Sharon or at least that's what they told me her name was very blase was more interested in making the plates then helping a customer or doing customer service.
Have been coming in since they opened pretty regularly at first two times a month always ordering white meat so she actually can recognize me when I walk in she knows what I order.
I am used to them telling me we need to drop it'll take about 12 to 15 minutes, not a problem I always put that in to my timeline.
Yesterday go in order my order to rest in a wing Tell me okay it'll be 12 minutes to drop fine not a problem. My son ordered a sandwich and a wrap they could have served him that while I waited not a problem but they didn't.
My son could see them looking at us every so often I was watching the time half an hour goes by nothing, finally cashier comes out tells me I'm sorry they forgot to drop the chicken but they have spicy.
I don't eat spicy, well we have one wing and one breast, I say that's fine, I can start with that and they can bring it the other breast when it's ready.
They finally bring our order out after waiting 40 minutes.
It took another 20 minutes for the other chicken breast so a total of 1 hour waiting for a complete meal.
Not once did the manager come out and apologize nobody offered compensation of any sort so when the cashier brought me the last breast I told him he did an amazing job he didn't do anything wrong but I needed to speak to a manager.
It took a while for him to call the manager even though she was standing right there I was standing at the counter sadly he looked a little afraid of her.
When she finally came to the counter I told her that it was very disappointed with this visit and how it was not taken care of.
That I had previously worked in the Kaneohe Popeyes back in the 1980s for about 3 years.
She looked at me and went oh you worked in kaneohe well they haven't had one there they're trying to bring one there they've never had one there I told her look at the history check with the owner I worked there for 3 years back in 1984 five and six so don't tell me there wasn't one there.
As a food service worker I knew especially at Popeyes that management normally would come out and apologize for you know service like that.
I think, I may be wrong but I think they were using the white meat for their drive-thru orders and their online orders trying to get them out quickly since we were sitting in the lobby but the fact that it took me almost an hour to have them complete the whole meal and I didn't get even a partial meal until 30 to 45 minutes it was ridiculous.
When I mentioned they didn't even offer any compensation she said oh it's coming I was going to bring you a pie, I told her I didn't eat the pies there.
I am very specific about what I ate there, so she asked me what I ate and I said what I normally order red beans and rice and white meat, oh okay.
Not once during our whole conversation did she ever apologize for the bad service.
10-15 minutes later as we were clearing up and getting ready to go, the cashier came out with a tray with 2 Breasts and a side of beans and rice .
Told me this is for you sorry about your order. I thanked him, and told him again, that it wasn't his fault, and that I appreciated all he was doing to try and make it right .
Management sucks, you have employees to serve the food, not take care of customer complaints, that is the job of management. And if someone tells you they worked somewhere in the past, don't assume they are blowing smoke.
It just makes you look even...
Read moreGotta say, the early day shift manager was amazing! She was training the day we got there, but she and her cashier were both friendly and helpful. It had been years since I have had Popeyes Chicken and their sides. Their newer menu items were a treat as well. I went in for my standard 4pc Chicken meal, All White Meat with Red Beans and Rice. And they did not disappoint!! From the fist spoonful of Beans and Rice, it transported me back a few decades. The taste brought back so many good memories!! The chicken, I gotta say, their white meat portions (breasts) are huge! Just as moist and tasty as I remembered. I only missed them not having their Durty Rice, that was once a staple. The only disappointment I can say I had was the biscuits lol. I used to work at a Popeyes back in the day, and I was one of the few that made the biscuits, and I know that it is an easy process. But you gotta put heart into it to have the beautiful light fluffy buttermilk biscuits I know are possible. The little hockey puc biscuits were sad. Sorry, but it's true. My son ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich, which is new for me. It was moist and flavorful. He truly enjoyed it and loved his Beans and Rice He is now a new convert to Popeyes Chicken! Thank you for opening one here on...
Read moreIt seems that current ownership of our local Popeyes does not know much about chicken. Not that I have a vast knowledge or understanding of chicken but I am from the south. They told me recently when I purchased a meal of 4 pieces of chicken, that I bit into that was pink. That that was the way all their chicken was when it came out of the fryer. Now I when the young female Owner or Manager and her Tattoo having assistant just stood their ground I quit with disbelief and decided that I would end my business with Popeyes. Now I know from a very brief experience with Church’s Fried Chicken that the problem is failure to thaw the chicken before dropping it in the grease. Now I am wondering if one can get sick from eating chicken that looks like it has blood next to the bone or so pink. But, as I said it’s none of my concern or business as I have quit eating chicken there. Now this my experience I can not speak to anyone else who has eaten chicken there. I can speak of...
