Went there this evening for my sons 12th birthday. I called earlier in the day to make reservations (party of 7 for 6:00p). We got there and did our temperature check. The hostess showed us our table which was set for 6. I told the hostess that my reservation was for a party of 7. She told us to hold on and proceeded to the back to speak with 2 other workers which by the way their conversation was going looked like they needed to do a serious table adjustment because it took a while before she came back only to add another chair to our table (total rocket scientist fix, now was that hard to do?). We sat and she took our drink orders which was 4 sodas and 3 waters. Our server came and asked us if wanted to order any appetizers but I told her "no thank you" and that we were ready to order. My side toss salad came out first. I was done with my salad by the time the rest of the food came out so I had the empty plate set aside. The other server brought out our food. After she placed down the 3 plates she had I handed her my empty salad plate so she could take it to make room for the rest of the food. She looked at it and said (with empty hands) "I'll come back for that" and walked away. I was confused as to why she didn't take the empty plate from me since she had nothing in her hands and she was going to the kitchen anyway. 2 of our orders was wrong and all the food was cold, not hot or even warm. The French fries was stale and cold. My prime rib was so dry. And before I go any further with this review I want to say that I am not one to complain but at this point I was so upset. All of our drinks was empty before the food even came and not once did the server ask if we wanted refills. We were done eating I started stacking our empty dishes to indicate that we are done. All workers just passed us by and tended to the other tables. As we just sat there awkwardly staring at each other I finally got our servers attention and asked for the check. The other server came out with our check, opened it, pointed and said "so because you are a party of 7 we automatically add on an 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more". I told her "oh no no no, 2 of our orders were wrong, our food was cold and our drinks was never refilled. I will not have you adding 18% gratuity on service like this." She said "oh ok, hold on.....let me talk to the manager." She went into the back again, and all the while our server never came back out. Because she was taking so long I told my family to go wait in the car already because they had a a lot of customers waiting outside to dine in. I waited by the hostess stand for her to come with my check. She came back and said "ok my manager took off the gratuity, I'm so sorry about that." I checked the bill and she charged me for the side rice I ordered that we never got. I told the hostess to ask our server to remove that charge because we never got the side rice. She went in the back and what do you know, our server came up to me. She said with a snarky attitude "ok so I took off the gratuity and I didn't charge you for the drinks.....so what's the problem?" I looked at her and said that I am not paying for something I didn't get, so take it off the bill. I never said I didn't want to pay for our drinks. She then came to me and said again with her snarky attitude "ok so your now grand total is $104.74." She stood next to me with her arms crossed as if I was gonna run out on my bill. I put $105.00 on the hostess stand and walked out. What's the sad part about this whole situation is to my understanding our server is a manager. This has been the worst dine in experience I have ever had. I loved tianos but we would always go to the Ewa beach location. Service there was always on point and the food was always amazing. Can't say the same for the kunia location but unfortunately the Ewa location shut down due to the pandemic. I would not recommend this restaurant. So disappointed. As far as automatic 18% gratuity, that is earned upon the servers service and this/these servers was not on their A...
Read moreAunty really likes to come here. Her favorite is the prime rib because it's ginormous and it is tasty. Pricing is what you'd expect for a fat prime rib steak, so no surprise there. Last time I got the kalbi which was just okay for the price. This time I got the Prime rib sandwich. I like that it came with some fat onion rings. I stuffed two on the sandwich, smashed that bad boy and went to town. The sandwich itself was good but the au jus dipping sauce was way too thick and too salty. It was more of a gravy than an au jus. I did really like the French fries and I'm kind of a French fry snob. They water well cooked on the outside and just the right amount of potato meat on the inside. They were a little salt but not horrible. I always expect french fries to be a little salty because if they served them how I'd like them, they would probably be consisted bland lol
This time the wife had the chicken long rice soup. It was an extremely generous portion but was also a little on the salty side. It may just be us though, because we are not salt people. We don't add salt to our food, not even when we're cooking so more times than not we find foods more on the salty side when we eat out.
One thing we do like here is the service. It's a super local kine place so you get that local kine service; friendly, happy and easy going. It's always a nice breath of fresh air and makes you kind of feel at home. No alcohol here but feel free to BYOB which I like because it helps save a couple bucks, should you want a drink with your meal.
There's ample parking, though the parking area directly in front of their restaurant is a shared parking lot, not that large and usually full but there's more parking behind it so not horrors.
There's a decent amount of seating but to be honest, the place is usually pretty full with their business being pretty steady so you usually have to wait to be seated but no more than a...
Read moreWe had to wait around 10 minutes because they were busy. It was worth the wait. The employees are really sweet. The tables are clean and there is low walls to separate tables. I love that! Our dishes was really good. I ordered the hamburger steak and added mushrooms. It was delicious. The hamburger was really soft. They did forget my mushrooms but the waitress caught it. I actually had to take my time eating because I waited for my mushrooms. Also, I asked for extra gravy because it was so good. The onion rings took it to another level. Other things we ordered and I tasted so I can give my honest opinion were chicken Fettuccini alfredo. My husband loved it. I thought it was good too. However, it needed a little more Fettuccini Sauce. My daughter ordered Pork Adobo Fried Rice. She liked it too. I thought it was okay. It had some parts that didn't soak up the sauce/seasoning so it was just white rice. The desserts we shared were creme brulee and vanilla ice cream with banana lumpia. Winners!!!! Very yummy. They didn't have ube ice cream but it's okay, the desserts were perfect. We are going to go back again to try the other foods. Also, be sure to wear your mask. You can only take it off when you will...
