I’m leaving this review because my dining experience at Shor was incredibly disappointing. My boyfriend and I went for their Valentine’s Day five-course meal, which was $65 per person. I had heard great things about this restaurant, so we were excited to try it.

From the moment we arrived, things started going downhill. We were seated uncomfortably close between two other couples, making it difficult to have a private conversation. When the waiter asked if we wanted water, we agreed, assuming it was standard courtesy. Later, we found out we were charged $6 for what tasted like plain tap water—without ice and never refilled.

The first course arrived: three tiny dumplings with sauce. While they tasted decent, the portion was ridiculously small. The next dish was a sweet and sour potato salad, which was cold and tasted awful—my boyfriend couldn’t even eat it. It seemed like it had been sitting out for a while, which was frustrating since we had already been waiting 30 minutes. At this point, we overheard other couples around us also complaining about the food, service, and long wait times. This was surprising because the restaurant wasn’t even busy.

Service was nonexistent. Our waiter never checked in to ask how we were doing or if we liked the food. When we received two small lamb kebabs with Brussels sprouts, I asked for the same hot sauce that came with the dumplings. The waiter said he would bring it, but he never did—he just watched me eat my meal without it, never mentioning it again.

The main course, which I had been looking forward to, was advertised as boneless chicken in a curry sauce with naan. My boyfriend and I both ordered the same dish, yet only one naan was brought out. Worse, the chicken was not boneless—it was full of small, squishy bones, making it impossible to eat. On top of that, it was overly oily. Once again, I could hear other guests complaining about the same issue.

Then came dessert—or at least, the long wait for it. We waited 40 minutes with no update, no apology, nothing. By then, we were beyond ready to leave. When the bill finally arrived, it included a mandatory 20% service charge—around $40—which was outrageous considering the terrible service. The waiter dropped off the check without a single word, not even a simple “thank you” or “have a good night.”

To top it all off, when I finally got up to leave, my legs were burning from the seat I had been on for so long, and I noticed I had developed a rash from sitting there. That was the final straw.

Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was mediocre at best, the service was awful, and it was clear that this restaurant cares more about making money than providing a good experience. If you’re looking for quality Indian food, go somewhere else. Trust me, this place is...

Our experience at Shor Restaurant was deeply disappointing and far below expectations, especially for a venue that claims Michelin star standards. Unfortunately, the food, ambiance, and overall service left much to be desired.

The biryani was completely bland and lacked the rich flavors typically associated with this dish. The chicken karahi was equally disappointing—overloaded with tomatoes and missing the authentic taste of a proper karahi. The lamb chops were overcooked, burnt, and had a rubbery texture, making them almost inedible. The chapli kebab was tasteless and did not resemble authentic flavors, while the garlic naan was overly thin, crunchy, and unappetizing. Additionally, the dosa was dry and hard, with accompaniments like the coconut chutney served cold and lacking freshness, and the aloo chutney had an overpowering taste that was off-putting. Even the cocktails were overly sweet and syrupy, making them undrinkable.

The ambiance was equally disappointing. The dim lighting felt unwelcoming and dreary, while the music was depressing rather than setting a pleasant dining atmosphere. To add insult to injury, the bill came to $350, an exorbitant price for such an underwhelming meal.

Dish ratings: • Chapli Kebab: 1/10 • Garlic Naan: 1/10 • Chicken Karahi: 2/10 • Biryani: 3/10 • Lamb Chops: 2/10 • Dosa: 2/10

Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The food was bland, poorly executed, and far from the quality one would expect at this price point. Shor Restaurant is not worth the hype or the cost, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking authentic or...

As a huge fan of South Asian cuisine, I was excited to learn about a new restaurant offering an elevated experience from a Michelin recognized chef. I came on Valentine's night with myself and my partner.

Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambiance: 3.5 Stars

Food: The flavors will be familiar to those who are familiar with Indian cuisine. Overall, the food was prepared well but failed to be delicious. The chicken in the biryani came slightly overcooked. The overall flavor of the dish lacked depth: 3 stars. The lamb in the Aloo Gosht was chewy while the potatoes lacked flavor. The sauce was unbalanced and tasted very heavy: 2.5 stars. The Garlic Naan tasted plain with a soggier texture than expected: 2.5 stars. The Plain Rice was perfect: 5 stars. The mango lassi was excellent, albeit expensive considering the small portion: 4 stars.

Service: Although the staff was very friendly, we felt we weren't well attended to throughout our meal. On multiple occasions, the waiter seemed to ignore our table while we were being obvious in flagging him down. On multiple occasions, we had to wait minutes on water after struggling to flag waiters for our empty cups.

Ambiance: The decor is pleasant and classy. However, the large dining room is left very open and feels more like a high-end cafeteria rather than an upscale restaurant.

I left feeling disappointed with the food, ambiance,...

A modern take on classic desi cuisine - delicious, freshly made food. Highly recommend the dahi puri and the peshawari karahi. Fully halal menu, including mocktails.
