I go pee pee for Pepe's! Metaphorically speaking, of course ;p
Ginormous portions! Pepe's Finest Mexican Food takes the place of former tenant, Taco Bell. Same layout, including drive-thru. Whenever driving down Carson St., I noticed how busy Pepe's always seemed to be. In need of something new for lunch, we came here to fill up.
Pepe's breakfast burrito-
Huge ass burrito, bro! Their signature burrito, Pepe's breakfast burrito comes with choice of meat or combo thereof. It is served wet, either with red or green sauce. This bad boy lasted for two meals, even for this devourer of food. I wasn't expecting beans & rice inside the burrito, as I prefer breakfast burritos w/o, but that's only a minor nitpick. Pepe's breakfast burrito was good, and quite filling.
Carne asada fries-
Look at all that guac! Look at all that salsa! Enough to feed a small nation, the carne asada fries are not for the faint of heart. Upon first opening the Styrofoam tray, I thought "Good God!". It's definitely something you're not going to see on a "Light & Fit" menu.
Service was good. When our food was ready, the staff threw in a free chicken enchilada & taco plate. Score! Seating is via tables & booths. Compliments to their restroom. They're spotless! Being Hawaiian Gardens, I expect to see markers & knifework adorning all surfaces of the restroom. So, either Pepe's restrooms are well taken care of, or they replace materials that are damaged by graffiti often.
Parking is via their own private lot. Pepe's is located across the street from The Gardens Casino.
The way to my heart is by way of massive portions. Pepe's has calorie-laden plates that keep your appetite in check for a long time. I found the food to be delicious, and the clean & inviting interior a great environment to stay and have a meal. I'm eager to peruse the menu & try something new the next time I visit Pepe's.
Highly recommend!
