Popeyes was great! They make the best Fried Chicken and I believe it's the only place you can get your chicken with a side of Red Beans &Rice, my favorite thing to eat next to Fried Chicken! With that said, I had never been to this location. I actually thought I was headed to another location as I was simply following the directions given on Google Maps. When I arrived, I could see that the parking lot was pretty empty, buy I pulled the location up in my phone and placed an online order for pickup. While sitting, I did notice drivers pulling up, going into the restaurant and coming out like clockwork! In less than 15-minutes my order was ready. I went inside of a clean, quiet restaurant with a friendly manager and employee who both greeted me with a smile. I give my name, which the manager repeated to the employee and voila, my order was handed to the manager. I decided to also get an apple pie for food measure. I was in and out of the restaurant in less than five (5) minutes! I was tired so I didn't have the energy to check my order for accuracy. So, when I got home, to my surprise, my food was still hot and it was DELICIOUS! My only regret was not getting more boneless wings! I asked for barbecue sauce, although I had some at home, but didn't need to dip my chicken, strips or wings into sauce. The chicken tasted great without it! Now, that's saying something! While I love Fried Chicken, I seldomly allow myself to have any because I am conscious about my health but every now and then, I like to be transported to a time when I could eat and enjoy my meals without worrying about my weight, my health, etc. For those times, I choose Popeyes and now, I will also choose this location because of its excellent customer service, the cleanliness of their restaurant, the quality of their products and the speed at which they deliver all of...
Read moreThis place is always supper bizzy. But they are fast.... Unfortunately they always get your order wrong. & Mean ALWAYS!!! Check it at the counter before you walk away. & keep your receipts. The girls who work hear are all black. Without being racist black girl's tend to be argumentative by nature, with strong personalities. This store like most fast food places has a large turn over rate. That being said ive been served by 20-30 different black girls. Now this store is in a $hitty part of town with a ton of beggars. So i can see why they are so feisty. You shouldn't have to save your recipients so when you get your order & its wrong, because its going to be. Then you can verbally batter the counter girl with recipients in hand as proof till she finally gives in & fixes your order. But if you choose to buy food from this store be prepared. Lots of times i didn't keep my recipients& literally 45seconds later I'm like "i just ordered less than a minute ago how can you not remember.... Glazed red eyes think back to blunt hits taken on break shoulder's shrug & " Ughh Ughhh" is issued
On the bright side 3 times they messed up & gave me way more food than i paid for.
The 1st time i gave it back... & yes i had to fight with the girl till about 3min into the fight she realized i was trying to give stuff back then she started laughing & said "i don't know why you juss din'nit keep it"
The # 2&3 time i did keep it due to being ripped off about 4times & either not wanting to drive back & or loosing the mortal combat round for my proper order.
Just remember LOOK IN THE BAG AT THE...
Read moreI'm strong like the dickens, cause I eat fried chicken. I'm Rodney, the hungry man!
Originally, this Popeye's was shutdown by the Health Department. I read the reason was due to a vermin issue, but I can't confirm that. With the long closure came a facelift, rebranding & shiny new interior.
Absence does make the heart grow fonder. While not being my favorite fast food chicken spot, which is Church's Chicken BTW, I would stop by Popeye's on occasion for their Tuesday legs & thighs special in the past.
For my initial visit to the remodeled Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, I went with the $5 meal - 2 pieces mixed, 2 sides & a biscuit. Nostalgia wears rose colored glasses. I found the small pieces of chicken to be kinda dry. The mashed potatoes & gravy & the red beans & rice cheered me up, with the flavor of Creole seasoning permeating each spoonful.
Service was good, as my order was taken right away with a short wait for my food to come out. Plenty of seating for those looking to dine in. Parking is in a private lot on the right & in the Food 4 Less shopping center on the left.
Popeye's, I missed you. However, I think my memory of you surpasses reality. Your fried chicken doesn't find my happy place like Church's, but I do like your seasoned side dishes. Plus, I did enjoy your crawfish entrees in the past, which is something you have exclusively. I'll be stopping by now & then for sure, more for your non-chicken...
