Blackjack Mulligan's Public House — Restaurant in Hawthorne

Ok so I am ashamed to have not taken pictures of our food. We always take photos but this time we didn't really think we would be reviewing. So I am upset that I didn't take a picture because this review will NOT be complete without it. First off from the moment you walk in the service is amazing. Everyone we had the pleasure of meeting was great, gracious, courteous and simply a delight to speak to. Now let's move on to the food, as many who follow these reviews know, I am somewhat picky with food and have a particular way of reviewing. But this is GREAT Bar food. Seriously one of the BEST if not the BEST burgers I've had. They do it right. The toast the bread before putting the burger and condiments on which makes it crispy. They then sear the burger giving it a crispy texture and forget it the bread is amazing. You need to try their stuffed burger. Now I also tried the Shepard pie macaroni and cheese and was shocked how good it was, loved it. Put biggest delight were the Irish Spring Rolls which are filled with corn beef and cabbage and were crazily insane. Loved it. We are now fans and will come back to update with photos. My fiancé and I went to the Hawthorne location for Saint Patrick’s day yesterday and it was terrible. We had a reservation for seven and we waited two hour for our food just for them to tell us they thought we already received it and they had run out. My fiancé is blind and he has a guide dog so people do not normally forget about him. We ended up having to order something else and got it to go since we had already been waiting for so long. I had the Irish nachos and they were cold and soggy. I would not recommend them. They originally tried to charge him for the food he did not receive but did end up catching it and fixing it in the end. We have been to the blackjack mulligans location in Garfield and they were amazing and accommodating but, after this experience, we would not recommend the Hawthorne location. There is no reason it took two hours to remember we were there. I understand it is busy but many tables came and went while we waited. Very upset and do not recommend. After I found out my car was towed on Saturday night, I asked the manager when they started towing cars from the post office lot. He got extremely argumentative. Not the way a business talks to their valued customers. Mind you I explained to him it was completely my fault for ignoring the signs, and admitted to parking there for years without incident. When I got my car out of the storage yard the next day, the woman told me that she has called the pub many times asking them to let their customers know not to park there. The reply from Black Jack's was, well if our customers are too stupid to read the signs, then they deserve what they get. Surely not the message I want to hear from a place that I really enjoy going to. The bad rating is not for the food or service, as both are great. Its for treating customers like they don't deserve a few moments of your time. Not to mention this manager also felt the need to try and be a tough guy when the situation didn't call for it.
