Ok so I am ashamed to have not taken pictures of our food. We always take photos but this time we didn't really think we would be reviewing. So I am upset that I didn't take a picture because this review will NOT be complete without it. First off from the moment you walk in the service is amazing. Everyone we had the pleasure of meeting was great, gracious, courteous and simply a delight to speak to. Now let's move on to the food, as many who follow these reviews know, I am somewhat picky with food and have a particular way of reviewing. But this is GREAT Bar food. Seriously one of the BEST if not the BEST burgers I've had. They do it right. The toast the bread before putting the burger and condiments on which makes it crispy. They then sear the burger giving it a crispy texture and forget it the bread is amazing. You need to try their stuffed burger. Now I also tried the Shepard pie macaroni and cheese and was shocked how good it was, loved it. Put biggest delight were the Irish Spring Rolls which are filled with corn beef and cabbage and were crazily insane. Loved it. We are now fans and will come back to update with photos. You need to try this place. Seriously, this will for now on be our St Patty's Day first stop every year. Loved it.

I'll start by complimenting the drinks and service. Martinis were excellent and the wait staff was great. The atmosphere was also nice, sat outside, large TV's for the game and everyone socially distanced and staff wearing masks, overall a chill relaxed environment. Now for the bad, that's the food, yuck is just the starting point. The Buffalo shrimp tasted like it was out of the freezer and the thia chili calamari tasted like it was out of the freezer, then drenched in a tiolet, then served to me. This is a new restaurant for goodness sakes, reheated, three day old leftovers from a gas station would have tasted better. This was the first and last time I dine at Blackjack in Hawthorne. To many dine out options in Hawthorne, I suggest picking a different one where the food doesn't taste as bad as it looks.
