For years this was my favorite restaurant. The last few times I've visited, I noticed the quality of food has diminished. On Saturday, 1/14 at around 2pm, my fiance and I went here, we did not have to wait for a seat and they didn't seem busy at all. When we were seated, the waitress brought chips and salsa and handed us our menus. We ordered two beers and some water, then I ordered a soft chicken taco with sour cream and guacamole on the side, and he ordered a hard taco platter (with beans and tortillas on the side). To start, the salsa was so bland and chunky, it tasted like watered down pasta sauce. The waitress brought over our beers, no water. Then after waiting over 20 minutes for our food to arrive, we were handed two plates. His had a soft taco, the most burnt and salty meat I have ever seen, and under it a plate of beans so the taco was smothers, NO TORTILLAS. My plate was a soggy corn tortilla with chicken that tasted like cat food, no sour cream and no guac. I waited a few minutes in hopes that she was coming back with the rest of our order, but she didn't, in fact about 10 minutes had gone by without seeing her at all. Once she finally stopped by to ask ho everything was, I had already lost my appetite and asked for the check. We were charged for two platters of tacos and beans and guac and sour cream. I complained and they adjusted my bill, which was still overpriced considering the food was disgusting. I'm not sure what happened to this place, it's really sad and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt... but I have just been so disappointed the last few times I've gone there, I'll probably...
Read moreWhen you need a home cooked meal away from home and you need it between 11am & 3am this is the place to go 5/7 days & others closes @12am. This is a college town so 3 am works out well for many students & late night owls alike. Horchata is the best I have ever had. Their Micholada is the best I have ever had with Modelo Especial you can choose other beers too. I usually order combo #5 or #6 3 item: (#5) Relleno, Enchilada, Taco or (#6) Tamale, Enchilada, Taco...Taco carne asada or al pastor (chicken seasoned awesomeness) with fresh made corn tortillas...I make 1 taco into 4 by ordering another side pack of maize tortillas...Tamale with Verde Salsa y Enchilada with Cx & Roja Sauce all over...little sour cream side order too for the enchilada and Chili Relleno is always cheesy pepper fresh with a light tomato onion sauce over black beans and rice & to go box I can never finish. Cold days or just under the weather or need some fresh vegetables... spicy Cx soup: Caldo Talepeno Sopa is the way to go...sometimes a little extra rice...it is filled with so much cx & vegetables & topped with a quarter to half avocado garnish...amazing sober you up &/or put you right to bed. Add tortillas to that your choice maize or flour to dip into or wrap the massive chunks of Cx into. Don't forget to get a Mexican Hot Chocolate too on a breezy chilled summer or winter night to finish your day...
Read moreLove the food here but it is way too expensive here. About 10 quesadillas will run you close to 50 bucks and just for some tortilla and cheese its a rip off. The food is actually decent and I always pick up from here and I haven't dine in because it is way too small. Anyways story time! They advertise that they close at 3AM on the weekends and I just finished working out and I was like why not?? It was 2AM so of course im not planning on dining in so I call ahead of time for pick up. I call literally 10 times and no answer.
I end up driving here because hey why not??? I drive here and to my surprise they are still OPEN. So i go park and try to open the door. There are people inside as well as servers so they are definitely not closed. We knock the door and the server just stares at us just standing there like he saw a ghost. Until five minutes later. He finally opens the door and says no dine in...well duh! It is 2:30AM and I just want to take my order and leave. I place an order and wait for the food. I get the food and to my surprise they stopped giving complimentary chips and salsa which has been a staple for this place for years!
Anyways long story short, they broke my trust in them like a Pinata except instead of candy, only...
