Four Stars - A Solid Choice for Comfort Food I recently tried Great River Chinese Restaurant, a local Chinese restaurant, and came away pleasantly satisfied. It's not going to win any Michelin stars, but it's a dependable spot for a good, classic Chinese meal. The Pros: Generous Portions: You definitely get your money's worth here. The dishes were piled high, and we had plenty of leftovers. Classic Flavors: They stick to the tried-and-true favorites, and execute them well. The Szechuan chicken had a nice kick, and the fried rice was flavorful and not greasy. *Service: Our server was attentive and efficient, even though the restaurant was fairly busy. Food arrived quickly, which is always a plus. Good Value: The prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. The Cons: Ambiance is Average: The decor is a bit dated, and the atmosphere isn't anything special. It's more of a casual, no-frills dining experience. Menu a bit generic: nothing really stood out as a unique or signature dish. Overall: Is a solid choice for a reliable and satisfying Chinese meal. It's perfect for a casual dinner with family or friends when you're craving comfort food. While it may not be the most innovative or stylish restaurant, it delivers on flavor and value. I'd happily return for another round of their...
Read moreHello I’m a YouTuber and I came in to try the food for the first time. I ordered the Mongolian beef which was a 10/10 we also ordered the bbq pork fried rice and fried chicken wings which were fried in a fish like batter and the rice was fried to perfection. However we did order one dish that was chicken and chowmein but we were giving a dish called pan fried noodles witch had thinly sliced chicken that looked undercooked the noodles were fried so they were crunchy and the sauce was very bland and it was a slimy sauce. We asked the lady if we can please exchange the dish as it was wrong and she told us no we can’t that we can order something else or get something else and pay half for the dish. Even though we did not touch the dish usually I’d get really upset because places should fix there mistakes and not lie or try to get more money from you witch was awful. However we still tried it to make the video and the only thing we were disappointed in was the effort that was not made to make things correct. This place would have gotten a 5 star rating however if you don’t order correctly you’re stuck with that dish or if they make a mistake they will not fix it . I give the food a 6/10 service 4/10. Mabe...
Read moreA revelation. I ate here once along, long time ago(decades). Thought it was at best okay. Was craving chinese and wanted to explore...this place popped into my head. Decades ago a coworker had mentioned her Asian friends went here. Thought I would give them another shot, glad I did.
The hot and sour soup was as I like it, good flavor (don't see pork "matchsticks", but the flavor is good). A small soup is equal to 3 or 5 typical serving bowls, so good value. Have had the Mongolian beef (no sugar added, just beef, green onions, red onions and the crispy white noodles-excellant flavor). I had the szechuan beef on another trip-deep fried slightly crunchy with garlic sauce (they said no sugar added, any sweetness is from the garlic sauce). The fried prawns were served in the ring style butterflied method (ask for...
