Tacos Gonzalez — Restaurant in Hayward

I give my experience 2 stars. I ordered nachos with no meat, 1 asada taco, and 1 pastor taco. Total was $23.

The nachos were underwhelming. They were advertised as meat, cheese, jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole. As you can see in the photo, the cheese is not actually nacho cheese, and is mozzarella cheese… Furthermore, there is no guacamole..CMON In addition, they included beans in the meal but we did not ask for beans and it was not advertised on the menu to include beans. Just felt like I got scammed on the nachos.

For the tacos, I’ll say that the meat was juicy and good. What lost points for me was that they used corn tortilla and it immediately crumbled in my hands. These tacos were $4.50 each.. I would expect more quality for that cost.

This place hit it out of the ballpark! I got two lengua tacos. My tacos were tender, flavorful, generous portions but what sent me over the moon was the generous heap of tender thick cut grilled onion, sweetened by caramelizing them. Everything about this place was great. Watching the huge mouth watering plates of food find their way to the tables made me realize I found my place whenever I'm in Hayward. Do yourself a favor and ignore the one star reviews left by the Karens of the world who savaged this small business. They were unhappy before they ever put in their order. Customer Service was a 5 out of 10. Burritos are huge but they are nasty. Don't order the steak burrito unless you like chewing on gristle. Beans are dry and my shell was burned. To me, they take no pride in the quality of there food. I will NEVER order food from this roach coach again. I went there twice just to be fair and both times the results were the same. In my opinion food is just not the same as in the past and people don't take pride in what they are serving to the public. That's not just burritos but chinese and other cultural foods.
