Max’s Cakes — Restaurant in Hayward

Max’s is the FKN BOMB! Can i say that word? Lol well it’s the best word to describe this cake I’m eating at 8:58 am! OMG, pure heaven, or whatever you believe in! Lol…. I had heard amazing things about Max’s and have always wanted to stop by! Since it’s in my neighborhood i strolled by yesterday and OMG! For one, it’s beautiful and comfy in the inside and EVERY SINGLE THING looked delicious! I saw beautiful cupcakes, cookies. Slices of cake… my eyes were so confused and excited i almost screamed! I decided to get one Oreo cupcake, slice of Lemon cake and a slice of Chocolate cake. AND GUESS WHO RANG ME UP! MAX HIMSELF! He is amazing and sweet and nice and polite and very engaging .. and …. Lol well I’ll stop. I can go on and on! Please do yourselves a favor and stop by and grab some treats! Max’s will be my go to for all my events! I usually drive to Berkeley for my cupcakes and cakes! No more of that!!!...

Burnt Almond cake - their most popular cake. The flavor reminded me a little bit of WholeFoods Chantilly cake, just a little and just the cake, not the frosting. And it came with some caramel slice crunchy almonds instead of Berries.

Carrot cake - really good, probably my favorite. It is very hard to find a good carrot cake that is not overly sweet.

Death by Chocolate cake - I love love dark chocolate, the lesser the sugar, milk and other junks, the better. This is not quite dark but it was good.

The frosting- 2 of out 4 family members loved it. The other 2 agreed that it was a little too sweet and I am the one of the 2. Ok, I am not complaining, I just moved the frosting away from my cake. lol

Max’s Cakes exceeded my expectations! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Max was very responsive and courteous over email, making the ordering process a breeze. Pickup on the designated day was quick and easy, with plenty of parking nearby.

My daughter handled the pickup and mentioned how much she loved the cute shop and how friendly and helpful the staff were.

As for the cake—wow! We ordered the burnt almond cake, and it was absolutely delicious. The cake itself was incredibly fresh, with a wonderfully moist texture. The whipped custard had the perfect balance of sweetness, and the crunchy sliced praline almonds on the outside added just the right contrast. Truly one of the tastiest cakes we've ever had!
