Taqueria El Jarocho 2 — Restaurant in Hayward

This place is in the same shopping center as Cardenas. I first tried to get a breakfast burrito that that advertised on the huge banner above the store. Got there at the time the banner said they opened because it's only limited hours for the sale of said breakfast burrito. They were still closed after 8 so I called and apparently they open at 9 even though the banner says breakfast burrito 5 dollars from 8 to 11. I asked why the banner said 8 to 11 and they said it was a mistake when they ordered but apparently they didn't mind the mistake because that banner has been there for more than a year. Anyways another time (at night) I actually ordered tacos and regular burritos and the food was pretty good. Price was comparable to other restaurants. This place is known for the taco Tuesdays and they get really busy those days. Tacos are 1.50 (was a dollar before) and they're small but good. They don't seem to answer the phone on those days also. This place is worth a try just don't try to get the 5 dollar breakfast...

I give 2 stars for Taco Tuesday, $1.50 for tacos excluding lengua.The food is really not that great. I got tacos de asada, chorizo, lengua and cabeza. The tacos were really dry along with the tortilla and cabeza had a unsatisfying taste. Hayward is infested with Taquerias, so I am almost positive it isn't hard to avoid this place. I asked the lady for cebollitas, she said there was a $2 dollar charge which was fine but then I opened just to find grill onions and jalapeños. I asked for a refund and she just looked at the other ladies and gave a stupid look. Then proceeded to say "that is why I said cebolla to you." First of all I said "cebollita" not cebolla, I told her that I was not going to argue with her, I know what I said. The food is delicious, especially tacos for $1.00 + tax on Tuesdays. Their hot sauce is one of the best. But you know why they got a 4 star? They have the most idiots order takers I have ever seen. If it was just one order takers I will say something wrong with him and we have to be tolerable, but it's the whole crew. Everytime I come they screw up my order by adding onions and the idiots repeat my order before making. At this point I don't know who are the idiots, the order takers or the taco makers. Also management if you are reading this you need to train your employees to greet customers and also the order takers was taking phone orders while I was standing in front of him to order.
