After several years eating here, last night service and the way full grown adult cook behaved. I came with a party of six last night out to dinner which included two children at four adults. Our waitress was very slow and taking her time, but that was fine because there was nobody there. There was a crowd and she had taken the order for which I said, please put in first for the kids then she laughed and came back about 15 minutes later and said are you ready to order? Didn’t take our drinks just ordered everything at once or drinks and mealdidn’t see her again until she had her drink table and the kids at that we’re getting a little rowdy and normally the waitress would be like your food will be out in a few minutes you know just say something she said nothing and I had told him to calm down that the food will be coming out soon we do you know we just have to wait so we waited and waited and there was no one else there with us and came and she started bringing it out. And so I had asked her where are the chicken fingers I did request for you to put them in early. She said that the fryer had gotten tied up and that she had no control of the way. The food was being cooked and then said it would only be a few more minutes or a minute and walked away and a few minutes go by and I get irritated. I got up and I went into the back and I asked excuse me. Do you know where my waitress is and the man cooking the food said listen, lady I don’t know what your problem is. I don’t know why why you’re getting so bad out of shape over chicken fingers, but I forgot to put them in and they’ll be out in a few minutes and I said I’m only bent out of shape because I have two children here waiting to eat the food that’s why I put it in early, and then he exploded and started yelling at me. You could hear him all the way outside. If you walked out front he was yelling for no reason I said is this the way you handle customer service? I’ve been waiting over half an hour for food for my children and then instead of somebody coming out apologizing to us for the wait you’re back here yelling at us. What makes you want what makes me wanna pay for my food now , do you want free food now? Is that what you’re saying you want free chicken and then he started carrying on about it again and behavior act like that caused and now it’s going to keep me from eating there because I will never eat there again after the way it...
Read moreI had a wonderful lunch at Cusat's Cafe, a Hazleton, PA bar and restaurant. Cusat's has been in business since 1936! Without question, an impressive run. Cusat's is located in Hazleton's Alter Street Business District at 12th St. It features ample off-street parking and a covered outdoor deck for the warmer months.
For lunch, I went traditional Hazleton. I had a sausage and scamutz sandwich, fries with gravy and a Farmer's Iced Tea. The bread was a dream having been made by nearby Senape's Bakery. The roll is crispy on the outside, light and soft on the inside. Does not overpower the sandwich - perfect! The sausage was homemade. Again, the sausage was homemade! Perfectly seasoned and a little spicy it was perfectly balanced in flavor. For those not familiar, scamutz, derived from scamorza is a Hazleton-style mozzarella cheese. It is mild, creamy and melts perfectly. Friends, these folks are the real deal, food-wise!
Hazleton is a wonderland of multi-cultural food. Cusat's Cafe continues to take its well-deserved place in this community. I highly...
Read moreHaven't been here in a few years, so I decided to give it another try. The service was great! Very nice, quick with getting the orders and drinks, and very well mannered. The prices weren't that bad compared to the portion sizes. The food was alright. The wings were a bit odd, but they were good. The cheesesteak wasn't what I had expected. Seemed like more of a burger cut into pieces than typical shredded steak. It was very flavorful, however. Overall not a bad place for a nice easy dinner...
