So the special for the night is $8.99 steak or chicken fajitas, normally priced around $15. I'm given two large plates worth of steak, onions, peppers and all the trimmings. I've had this before and it's awesome. This time however, I'm given three 6inch tortillas to accompany all of this food. I immediately tell my waiter that I'll be needing more tortillas obviously. He brings them out to me no questions asked. I end up using 4 of the tortillas and have two left. I ask for a to-go plate and a couple more tortillas so that I can take over half of the food with me to work the next day. "Yes sir," my waiter says and brings me three more tortillas. When I recieve my ticket I notice that I've been charged $1.95 x 2 for ordering "extra tortillas." I ask why this is because I've never been charged for them before and he says "Oh that's just what they cost." So I show him the two plates that were full of food and ask how someone is supposed to eat all of that food on three small tortillas, to which he says "I don't make the prices." I tell him to find whoever does and tell them that this is ridiculous. He says he'll talk to the manager and returns to inform that the manager says I'll have to pay for them. I pay the ticket and let him know I'm not happy about it as politely as possible.
So it's funny that this kind of thing didn't happen when the Mexican restaurant across the street was still open but now that they've been run out of business things have apparently changed. At least the other restaurant was consistently bad as opposed to switching to a terrible business practice to make a little extra money. If they can't make money selling the fajitas for $8.99 then don't put them on special, I don't appreciate being treated like an idiot by being charged $4 for 6 small tortillas so that you can make approximately your standard fee for a meal that's on "special." Not to mention never informing me that there was an extra charge associated with the tortillas.Terrible experience, I never...
Read moreI've been twice. The first time I got enchilada/taco/quesadilla lunch special. The enchilada was really good. The taco was super greasy and bland. Same for the quesadilla. The waiter was more interested in counting his tips(literally right in front of me) than taking care of the customers. The second time I got beef nachos and they were really good. I got a different waiter and he was much better. Walking back to my truck, I noticed they need to clean up around their building. Trash bags, aprons, beer cans, paint rollers and boxes are strolled all down the side of the building.
Attitude of the two servers were terrible. They acted like they didn't want to talk to us. Then we order pink lemonade. They bring out regular lemonade and sit it on the table and ask if we are ready to order. My daughter says this isn't pink lemonade. He said we don't have any. He should've said that and asked if we wanted something else. We order taco salads and cheese dip. I had to ask for the cheese dip twice and it came after our salads. Then we eat our sald or at least try to. The chicken and the salad had no flavor. Chicken was boiled and thrown on lettuce, one small piece of tomato, lettuce had some kind of white water substance on it. Gross! Is an understatement! We both have terrible stomach aches! Will never eat here again. We chose Rodeo's because of their good reviews and we are very sorry...
