My name is Hazel Hightower. Today 08/7/2024. I went to Alabama Power in Headland, Alabama to turn on my electricity in Midland City, Alabama because I was in the process of selling my home, and I had a realtor waiting on me so I could let him know if everything was done. Once I arrived at the office around 10:45 am, I attempted to open the second set of doors to go in but the doors were locked. I saw 2 people inside and the lights were on. I stood there looking inside the building to see if I could come in or acknowledge me standing outside. I didn't see any sign stating if they were closed or on lunch. The only notice that I saw was written for August 8 that they are going to close at 4:45 pm. I waited, and after 20 minutes more customers came and left. I called the State Farm office across the street to see if they knew anything, and the female said " No, and I have no clue why they would be closed". I was hot and began to get a little frustrated. I then called the 800 number, and I was able to get a nice woman on the phone. Her name was Ashley from Eufaula. I explained my issue. She quickly apologized for what I was going through, and she quickly handled my call, and my electricity was turned back on without any problems. I believe the time was 11:45 am. Once everything was completed. I thanked her and she did the same. When we hung up the phone. Customers were arriving, and one customer said to me" Ma'am, They are open now" .
