Ordered vanilla cold brew coffee receive cold coffee with ice and vanilla syrup.... That's NOT cold Brew.
Cold brew coffee is made by steeping coarse-ground coffee beans in cold water for an extended period, typically 12-24 hours. This slow extraction process produces a concentrated, smooth, and less acidic coffee than traditional hot brewing. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Grind the Coffee: Unlike hot brewing, cold brew requires a coarse grind, similar to raw sugar or ground peppercorns. This prevents the grounds from becoming too muddy or bitter during the slow steeping process. Combine Coffee and Water: Place the coarse-ground coffee in a container (like a jar, pitcher, or French press) and add cold water. Ensure the grounds are fully saturated with water and stir to distribute them evenly. Steep the Coffee: Cover the container and let it steep at room temperature for 12-24 hours, or in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. The longer the steeping time, the stronger the concentrate will be. Strain the Coffee: After the steeping period, strain the coffee through a coffee filter, fine-mesh sieve, or cheesecloth lined with a strainer. This separates the coffee concentrate from the grounds. Store and Serve: Store the concentrated cold brew in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks (it's best to drink it within the first week). When ready to serve, dilute the concentrate with water, milk, or creamer to your desired strength. Pour over ice and enjoy your cold brew! This video demonstrates the steps for making cold...
Read moreWomen owned, and women disrespected. An establishment is only as viable as its management.
I came through today and could hear an older woman berating the young girls on staff. They young women were hustling and getting drinks out as fast as possible, but when I looked through the window, the same woman accosting and being absolutely VILE, wasn’t even lifting a finger. I would not be surprised if the wait gets longer here due to a mass walkout. I will not be supporting or recommending SheBrews to anyone anymore.
To the owner, consider relieving the middle aged woman with black hair and glasses, and promoting one of the younger women who were working as gracefully as possible while being treated like dogs. I choose to support small businesses because occurrences like this do not happen, I was profoundly uncomfortable and upset with my experience today.
To the staff, I strongly encourage you to seek out the support of the Montana Department of Labor & Industry. What you experienced today was textbook harassment and retaliation.
A lot of businesses in Montana are suffering labor shortages, and it’a due in part to management like I...
Read moreThe staff working on Black Friday this morning were very rude & disrespectful. I was so excited about this coffee joint when they opened because Helena is lacking in their coffee options. The coffee was good here, the service was great the times I went prior, however, this morning I went to get coffee and the coffee was burnt and bitter. Which was very unusual for them. We went back to ask if they could remake them and we got nothing but snarky attitudes. I’ve worked in the coffee business for quite some time to know that this is a great way to lose loyal customers. I’m not sure the standards that She Brews is held too, but the coffee shops I’ve worked at have always told me to make it right with customers first and foremost, and with a smile! This experience was disheartening because I really did enjoy this place up until now. They remade our coffees, handed them out without a word, and this time the temp was luke warm and the sizes were not the same. Very...
