HUNTS Tennessee BBQ — Restaurant in Henderson

I finally got to eat here after hearing everyone rave about this place. I believe Hunt's is the only BBQ place within Henderson's city limits now. The two ladies in the food truck were very nice & the BBQ plate I ordered was prepared and delivered so quickly, I couldn't believe it! The price for all the food I received wasn't bad either. The baked beans had little pieces of BBQ meat in them which was a nice touch. Finally beans that taste like they DIDN'T come out of a can. The potato salad had large chunks of potatoes with the skin still on, not what I'm used too, but also very nice. The BBQ sandwich was overflowing with meat, just falling out of the bun. I wish there had been a little more white meat on the sandwich. I wasn't a big fan of the sauce on the sandwich either, but not a deal breaker. The presentation on Google maps doesn't lead you to understand that this is a food truck in a parking lot with picnic tables next to the highway. So atmosphere, zero. I made the mistake of ordering pulled pork nachos. The pork was great but I can't understand why they waste it in the mess they call nachos. Canned nacho cheese sauce, 5 tiny slices of pickled jalapenos, all buried in about a cup of chopped (and again, I think) canned tomatoes and a can of whole corn kernels. By the time we arrived back at our camper - about 10 minutes - the whole thing was a soupy mess. I've never seen nachos buried in corn, and never hope to again. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was also a soggy mess, the only edible part was the pork. Maybe an off day for Hunt's, but we won't recommend you find out...

Hunts was my choice this year for our Christmas dinner. Ordering was so easy. He even made a follow-up call to make sure he had everything down correctly! I ordered brisket, ribs, along with greenbeans, cheesy taters and Mac and cheese, all of which are homemade! Everything was superb! I couldn't have nor would I have wanted to cook this meal! Every detail was perfect. It even came with a gallon of sweet tea...I hear their lemonade is the bomb too! Very fairly priced and customer service was excellent! This will be a new tradition for me and my family. Thanks so much for an awesome meal that was absolutely delicious!! There were leftovers to enjoy the next day and still just as good. Don't sleep on this place...such good food...
